Prior to the CEO position, Bolen was the company's Pacific Region President and served as executive vice president of operations and senior vice president of construction services. Bolen joined McCarthy's Phoenix office as a carpenter superintendent in 1981 and later was director of operations for McCarthy's parking division.

Derek Glanvill

Derek Glanvill currently serves as the corporate president and chief operating officer for McCarthy, overseeing all operations for the builder's divisions and affiliates. In addition to construction operations, he is responsible for all corporate functions including developing new market areas, overseeing employee training, human resources, information technology, risk management, corporate communications and enhancing safety and quality programs.

Prior to his current position, Glanvill served as executive vice-president for McCarthy's Midwest Division. He has more than 25 years experience in the construction industry and has focused on a broad spectrum of national and international markets.

In addition to his work at McCarthy, Glanvill actively participates in a wide variety of civic and charitable endeavors. Currently, he sits on both the board of directors and private sector infrastructure council for the St. Louis Regional Chamber & Growth Association, and is a member of the Regional Business Council, the Associated General Contractors and the Young Presidents Organization, among others. Further, he also serves on the board of directors for St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation Board, Wyman, a nationally recognized organization that prepares disadvantaged youth to lead successful lives and build strong communities, and the Make-A-Wish® Foundation Chapter for St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield.

Frances Choun

Frances Choun is a principal and vice president for the Northern Pacific Division. She develops and maintains business relationships with clients throughout the region.

Choun launched her career in architecture, where she developed an interest in the construction side of the business. Her exposure to the construction industry eventually led to her transition into the field. As an industry expert, Frances is regularly called upon by local media and invited as a speaker on panels to address construction industry trends and has been published in both business and trade press.

In addition, Frances is the Immediate Past President of the Commercial Real Estate Women—San Francisco board; Past President of the board of directors for the San Francisco Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center; and a member of the San Francisco chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

As President of the Southwest Region for the last ten years, McCarthy’s presence has grown in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah with revenue growing from $200 million to $700 million. McCarthy continues to provide service to the firm’s traditional markets and is expanding into renewable energy and industrial markets.

Wittkop joined McCarthy as a project engineer in 1986. He has spent the last 24 years moving up through the ranks of the organization, relocating for the company nine times to manage projects around the Central Division. One of his most notable projects was the 1.4 million-square-foot Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Jim Contratto

Jim serves on the St. Louis County Business Expansion and Retention Committee and is a member of the Design/Build Institute of America, Associated General Contractors, and a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House. He is also a voting member for the Global Lab of the Year Award.

Cam Walker

Michael Duffy manages client relationships within McCarthy’s Federal business unit. His current focus includes military and civilian federal agency work primarily in Texas and the southwestern U.S.

Duffy brings over 30 years of construction and business development experience to McCarthy. As a Corps of Engineers Officer, he previously served as Vice President at Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Military Programs Directorate), and held other positions in Corps’ Districts, and on the Army and Secretary of Defense staffs. His military construction experience includes both domestic and international project experience.

In the private sector, he ran the European Operations of a leading international designer and later led the firm’s LEED® and Federal Programs practices. He spent the last ten years leading business development and project delivery on projects whose constructed value exceeded $500M in completed work on four continents.

He is a registered professional engineer, licensed attorney, and a LEED® Accredited Professional. Duffy currently serves on the International Committee of the Society of American Military Engineers and has held many leadership positions within the organization.

Having provided a decade of service to McCarthy clients, Ray Sedey has excelled in a multitude of senior management positions, including overseeing the largest public project the Nevada/Utah Division has completed to date. Through his expertise and leadership, Sedey has been a mentor to many within the division and currently plays a leading role overseeing the day-to-day activities of McCarthy’s Henderson office. His expertise on large-scale construction projects has allowed the division to diversify its portfolio with projects in the healthcare, hospitality and gaming, education, transportation, commercial, public and private markets. Sedey has also positioned himself as a valuable resource to owners and project partners.

Sedey displays great passion and commitment to the construction industry, as well as to the community. He plays an active role in the community through his involvement with the American Cancer Society and is actively involved with the Associated General Contractors of Nevada and the American Concrete Institute.

Shad Bowman

Shad joins McCarthy with 15 years of experience in the water industry, after having worked for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, environmental and engineering consulting companies, and large water utility companies in surface water, watershed and water utility roles. He is primarily focused on business development, client relationships and fostering projects in water and wastewater services in the Southwestern US.

Shad’s thorough understanding of the technical, sociological and regulatory aspects of water enable him to offer knowledgeable input on developing new water infrastructure projects and public-private partnerships. He is a member of several industry organizations, including the American Water Works Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Water Environmental Federation, and also served on a Project Advisory Committee for the Water Research Foundation.

Chris Jacobson

Chris’s entire career has been spent at McCarthy, primarily in operations on large, complex healthcare projects. Chris has spent more than a decade working his way up from project engineer to project director and now acts as the leader of business development and preconstruction for healthcare and higher education projects in the Southwest Division. With extensive field and operations experience, Chris’ unique ability to understand the complexities of hospital design and construction has proven to be an asset to clients when planning projects. Chris is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers and serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Arizona Society of Healthcare Engineers as Treasurer.

Sara Hill

Director, Business Development-Education/Parking Structures
Located in Newport Beach
California State University, Fullerton
B.A. in Business Administration, emphasis in Marketing

Hill is responsible for maintaining and growing McCarthy’s business in the education (K-12), higher education, commercial, government and parking structure markets within Orange and Los Angeles counties as well as in the Inland Empire region of Southern California.

She has more than 11 years of marketing and business development experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industries. A founding board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services - Orange County and past president of the organization, Hill has also served on the board for the Women’s Transportation Seminar and is a member of the Construction Management Association of America and the Design-Build Institute of America.
