Past Airport Construction Projects
Sky Harbor International Facilities Upgrade
Sky Harbor in Phoenix came to McCarthy with a desire to upgrade their international facilities. We worked closely with officials and the chosen design firm to come up with a construction plan. The project required significant additions and alterations to the NE concourse "N4" connecting bridge that linked the international concourse and another terminal. The total renovation covered an area of 15,730-sf and included the addition of a 500-sf moving walkway/underground tunnel for passenger convenience.
Lambert St. Louis International Airport
The massive Lambert St. Louis International project included the construction of a completely new terminal. McCarthy worked with Lambert and their architects to realize their vision of a brand new, 225,000-sf East terminal. The new building included a ticketing area, passenger concourse, and new baggage claim areas. This comprehensive airport construction project required McCarthy to be flexible and ready to overcome obstacles to deliver a satisfactory product.
Los Angeles International Airport
At one of the busiest airports in the world, McCarthy completed a 462,250-sf modernization of the Tom Bradley International Terminal without disrupting passengers or airport operations. Over the course of the project, McCarthy worked through numerous obstacles in order to upgrade or totally replace signage, baggage handling systems, elevators, escalators and interior finishes.
In addition to the remodeling of the main terminal, McCarthy constructed a 48,000-sf addition to the terminal that further increased the airports' ability to handle international passengers.
