Highway Construction Projects
McCarthy has built multiple highway and freeway construction projects. Among them was the State Highway 190 @ US 75 project in Plano, TX. This project required the construction of 14 highway bridges composed of concrete beams and structural steel, and over 40,000 cubic yards of concrete. Our team completed 1,368,067 square feet of bridge deck and 73,000 square yards of concrete paving throughout the project. Learn more about this and our other civil transportation projects.
Rail Construction
McCarthy has partnered with cities like Dallas and St. Louis to upgrade aspects of their rail transportation infrastructure.
In Dallas, the Trinity Railway Express project was a two phase conversion of an at-grade single line rail into two elevated lines, which eliminated many traffic conflicts between trains and auto traffic at three key intersections.
The Cross County Metrolink Extension included the demolition and replacement of Forest Park Parkway and the construction of a new tunnel, two new stations, and the replacement of two bridges. The new light-rail tunnel runs 1.32 miles.
Tunnel Construction
The Lindbergh Boulevard Tunnel is an example of our tunnel construction projects. In order to carry traffic under the new 12L-30R runway that was part of the Lambert-St. Louis International Expansion Program, we constructed the tunnel. The 1,418 foot tunnel reliably serves travelers and is just one example of McCarthy's transportation construction.
