Coined “The Medical Center of the Future,” this project at St. Rita's Medical Center involved adding a nine-story patient tower to the existing facility and marked the first major campus expansion in nearly 11 years.
The new tower is equipped with the most advanced technology and feature spacious patient and family suites. Floors dedicated specialty centers such as orthopedics, heart, cancer and neurology, among others. Each floor features multiple family lounges and a fully equipped kitchen to accommodate families that want to remain close by.
High-performance and sustainable features include:
- Landscape and exterior designed to reduce heat islands
- Light pollution reduction
- Optimize energy performance — 20% target
- Utilize materials with recycled content of 5%
- Utilize local/regional materials - 20% manufactured locally
- Construction indoor air quality management plan during construction
- Indoor air quality CO2 monitoring
- Use of low-emitting materials including: adhesives, sealants, paints, carpeting, composite wood and agrifiber
