For the third time, McCarthy has been named “General Contractor of the Year” by the Midwest Council of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), a construction trade association of specialty contractors and suppliers serving the St. Louis and Southern Illinois region. McCarthy accepted the award at the ASA’s annual awards dinner on March 29. This is the third time McCarthy has been honored by the Association in the last four years.
“Winning this award is attributable to every employee who deals with our subcontractors on a daily basis,” said Karl Kloster, president of McCarthy’s St. Louis-based Midwest Division. “Our subs are a critically important aspect of our business. It’s reassuring to know our values and practices are recognized by the companies who experience them first hand.”
McCarthy, along with its industrial company MC Industrial, has a long history of working with the subcontractor community in St. Louis, and strives to always maintain excellent relationships. Among the projects underway by MC Industrial and its subcontractors are the Holcim (US) cement plant in Bloomsdale, Missouri, the AmerenUE power plant at Portage de Sioux, Missouri, Center Ethanol in Sauget, Illinois, The Boeing Company in St. Louis, and the Monsanto Seed Plant in Farmer City, Illinois.
