“McCarthy’s experience and knowledge in the healthcare arena will be an asset to United Regional as we move forward with this much anticipated construction project.”
—Phyllis Cowling, president and CEO, United Regional Health Care System
Construction is underway on the $45 million South Tower addition of the United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The project will include a new 160,000-square-foot, 4-level tower and a 10,000-square-foot renovation within the existing hospital space, connected by two pedestrian bridges. The new bridges will span over the main entry of the existing hospital, which will require McCarthy to build and tie the two new bridges into the existing space during off-hours. “The United Regional consolidation will further increase the quality and safety of care provided for our patients while simultaneously providing enhanced convenience and accessibility. We are pleased to be working with a construction company with such high caliber as McCarthy,” said United Regional’s Phyllis Cowling. Upon completion in April 2009, the South Tower will provide space for 56 patient beds, pediatric services, labor/delivery, a post-partum unit, nursery suites and radiology units.
