McCarthy’s partners in Texas walk for the American Diabetes Association.
This was evident when the McCarthy Texas Team participated in the Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes on Nov. 1st, 2008. The funds raised support the American Diabetes Association’s important research, information and advocacy efforts and its mission: To prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
This year, the group tried something a little different. They had each local jobsite compete to see who could raise the most money for the event. The jobsites were creative! They sold wristbands, held football pools and even had a car wash. They also asked their subcontractors to join in the fundraising and many donated to the cause. All in all, the Texas Division raised more than $10,000 for the American Diabetes Association, greatly surpassing their goal of $5,000 – earning the group the title of Top Corporate Team for 2008!
