Habitat for Humanity and McCarthy Heart Hats are a Perfect Valentine’s Day Combination

Habitat for Humanity and the Heart Hat volunteers of McCarthy were meant to go together.  Beginning February 14 and continuing through mid-May, volunteers from McCarthy are spending their Saturdays building a new home for a U.S. Army veteran and his young family.

Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego Honors McCarthy Team as Top Fundraiser for Shamu Walk

A team of 75 employees at McCarthy were honored recently by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego for raising a total of $13,725 as part of its second annual SeaWorld Shamu & You Family Walk benefiting the hospital.  McCarthy’s “Rady Children’s Hospital Construction Team” raised the largest amount by a single team.

McCarthy Hosts Job Site Tour For Patrick Henry High School Ace Mentor Program

mbc-ace-tour5-1208Officials of McCarthy Building Companies recently gave students of Patrick Henry High School a behind-the-scenes tour of the $260 million Rady Children’s Hospital Patient Care Pavilion job site in San Diego. The tour was held in conjunction with the ACE Mentoring Program of America, a unique partnership with building industry professionals and school educators who work together to inform young students about the various career opportunities available within the architectural design, engineering and construction fields.

Local Builders Donate Labor and Supplies to Rebuild the New Ronald McDonald House Family Room at Choc Children’s in Mission Hospital

McCarthy has recently completed reconstruction of the Ronald McDonald House Family Room inside CHOC Children’s at Mission Hospital. Approximately $225,000 in construction work and materials were donated to complete this 852-square-foot remodel.
