McCarthy Helps Homeless Teen Shelter Find New Home

After six months of planning, permitting and construction Street Teens, a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk teens in Southern Nevada, finally has a new larger facility to help homeless teens in the valley. With the help of McCarthy and many community partners donating their time and talents, volunteers successfully converted a residential building into a 4,000-square-foot drop-in center.

Community Days in Northern California Kick Off the Spirit of the Season

The Northern Pacific Division of McCarthy kicked off the 2010 holiday season by giving back to our respective communities.

In Sacramento, 50 McCarthy volunteers rallied together to assist the local Ronald McDonald House with some much-needed repair. A member of the local community since 1998, the Sacramento facility provides a “home away from home” for families who have children being treated in one of five Sacramento hospitals, including: UC Davis Medical Center, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Mercy, Kaiser Permanente, and Sutter Medical Center.

Team of McCarthy, TAYLOR and St. Joseph Health Systems to Donate Design-Build Services for Latino Health Access Community Center and Park

LHA breaks ground on the first community-driven recreational and educational public space of its kind promoting health and wellness in Santa Ana
 
The design-build team of McCarthy and TAYLOR, (www.TAA1.com ), are working in partnership with St. Joseph Health Systems, (www.stjhs.org), Latino Health Access (LHA), (www.LatinoHealthAccess.org ),  and various other project team members to donate services for a new community center and park in one of the poorest areas of California. To be the only community center and park in the 92701 zip code, the project will be built on a half acre of land at 602 E. 4th Street and adjacent to one of the largest condominium complexes in Santa Ana.  The landmark community park project will kick-off on November 5, 2010 during a formal groundbreaking ceremony.
