New GOALS “Dreamscape” Project Opens for Underserved Youth

The donated athletic facility is a dream come true for Anaheim youngsters

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., (www.mccarthy.com), Orange County’s largest construction firm, along with 33 subcontractors and suppliers, recently completed construction of a new 25,000-square-foot athletic facility for GOALS (Growth Opportunities through Athletics, Learning and Service) youth program.  Called “The GOALS Dreamscape,” the athletic facility is located in north central Anaheim adjacent to GOALS existing headquarters on La Palma Parkway. McCarthy has been involved with GOALS for over 14 years since the firm donated labor and rallied subcontractor support for the construction of the Disney GOALS Roller Hockey Skating Rink and headquarters facility in Anaheim.

McCarthy, Oakland USD and GKK Works Join Forces to Beautify Five Oakland Schools

Students, faculty and staff at five Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) schools returned to the 2010/2011 school year with newly landscaped campuses. McCarthy’s “Tools for Schools” Program, in conjunction with GKK Works and OUSD’s Division of Facilities, Planning and Management, sponsored and organized a volunteer landscaping initiative in preparation for the new school year.

McCarthy Heart Hat Home Makeover Brings Joy to Los Alamitos Family in Need

McCarthy Heart Hat’s employee volunteer group from McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. of Newport Beach, Calif. recently completed a home makeover for a Los Alamitos family in great need of assistance.  Over 22 subcontractors donated supplies and services along with McCarthy Heart Hats to conduct the home remodel valued at approximately $80,000.

Heart Hats Focus on Building a Better Southern Nevada

McCarthy’s Las Vegas Heart Hats team members were busy in 2009 with projects and activities that were good for the heart and for the community. Dedicated to helping those in need and making a real difference in the community in which they live, work and play, McCarthy Heart Hats team members logged more than 500 volunteer man hours and donated their time, resources and talent to a variety of organizations and individuals in the Southern Nevada community.

Pitching in at Pathways—Heart Hats does it again!

The Salvation Army’s ten-year-old Pathways program facility in Las Vegas recently received a much needed face-lift from McCarthy Heart Hats volunteers. Pathways is a residential group home that houses and assists mentally challenged and chronically ill homeless adults with their day to day needs in addition to providing  resources to help residents become more active in society.
