Team of McCarthy, TAYLOR and St. Joseph Health Systems to Donate Design-Build Services for Latino Health Access Community Center and Park

LHA breaks ground on the first community-driven recreational and educational public space of its kind promoting health and wellness in Santa Ana
 
The design-build team of McCarthy and TAYLOR, (www.TAA1.com ), are working in partnership with St. Joseph Health Systems, (www.stjhs.org), Latino Health Access (LHA), (www.LatinoHealthAccess.org ),  and various other project team members to donate services for a new community center and park in one of the poorest areas of California. To be the only community center and park in the 92701 zip code, the project will be built on a half acre of land at 602 E. 4th Street and adjacent to one of the largest condominium complexes in Santa Ana.  The landmark community park project will kick-off on November 5, 2010 during a formal groundbreaking ceremony.

McCarthy celebrates the topping out of an inpatient mental health center for the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.

McCarthy recently topped out the future 90,000-square-foot, 80-bed Inpatient Mental Health Center for the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), which broke ground last summer. The topping out event included a number of dignitaries, including Senator Barbara Boxer who spoke at the ceremony while construction crews set the last beam in place and added her signature to the project’s final steel beam.

McCarthy Joins Governor Schwarzenegger to Officially Launch Work on $3.3 Billion March LifeCare City

McCarthy, one of the premier hospital builders in the U.S., joined California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in a public ceremony on July 27, 2010 to start work on America’s first “Health and Wellness City” at the former March Air Reserve Base in Southern California.

Miramar College Parking Structure and LEED Platinum-Designed Police Substation Breaks Ground

McCarthy, one of Southern California’s preeminent parking structure builders, has broken ground for the construction of a new 828-space parking structure and an adjacent 6,000-square-foot police substation at San Diego Miramar College, located in the Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch area of San Diego. An official groundbreaking ceremony was held July 14.

Structural Steel Tops Out For CHOC Children’s Hospital Patient Care Tower II

McCarthy recently topped off the structural steel on CHOC Children’s new patient care tower in Orange, Calif. Currently on schedule for construction completion in December 2012, the $563 million expansion is located on the south side of the existing CHOC Children’s hospital site.
