The Winn Army Community Hospital at Fort Stewart moved another step closer to completing its $23.1 million expansion and renovation by officially breaking ground on a new 65,000-square-foot building. Being constructed by McCarthy, the project is targeted to achieve LEED Silver certification and also includes the renovation of approximately 1,000 square feet of the existing hospital, which opened in 1983.

McCarthy Tops Out on R&D Facility at Oak Ridge National Laboratory
McCarthy, one of the nation’s leading science and technology builders, recently topped out on construction of the new Maximum Building Energy Efficiency Research Lab (MAXLAB) at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Tennessee. The $11.8 million, 16,600-square-foot facility will be devoted to the research and development of energy-efficient building products, including HVAC and exterior building envelope materials, components and systems. This project follows McCarthy’s construction of the Chemical and Materials Sciences Building completed this past summer. The ORNL campus is managed by UT-Battelle for the U.S. Department of Energy.

Camp Pendleton Naval Replacement Hospital Project Tops Out
McCarthy, in joint venture with Clark Construction Group, LLC, has topped out today on the 500,000-square-foot Naval Replacement Hospital Project at Camp Pendleton, having erected more than 4,000 tons of structural steel to reach the milestone. The design-build construction team, with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest, marked the completion of the project’s structure with a jobsite lunch and celebration.
