McCarthy was honored this week with a 2011 Corporate University Xchange (CorpU) Award for Excellence and Innovation. This award recognizes outstanding work in corporate learning and talent development and comes on the heels of McCarthy’s placement on the prestigious 2011 Training 125 list earlier this year. The awards were presented during the Global Leadership Congress 2011, a 3-day symposium co-sponsored by CorpU and the University of Pennsylvania. A first-time applicant, McCarthy was honored with a Best Practice award in the Launching Category.

McCarthy Begins Construction on $105 Million UCSD Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility
McCarthy has begun construction for the new 196,000-square-foot, five-story Health Sciences Biomedical Research Facility located on a 3.3-acre site within the School of Medicine campus at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in La Jolla, Calif. The project team is targeting LEED platinum certification.
University of New Mexico Science & Math Learning Center is Dedicated
The University of New Mexico’s Science & Mathematics Learning Center in Albuquerque was dedicated on March 4, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and building tour. University Regent Don Chalmers and President David Schmidly were joined by political and community leaders and senior administrators for the event.

The innovative and interactive teaching facility offers students and faculty from a variety of healthcare disciplines the opportunity to work side-by-side, as well as “telecommunicate,” as they develop the skills required to deliver patient care.
