Wyly Theatre honored in commercial project category
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., a Texas builder since 1980, was recently awarded a 2010 Distinguished Project Award for its work on the AT&T Performing Arts Center (AT&T PAC) Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre. TEXO selected the Wyly Theatre as the winner in the category of commercial/educational projects totaling $30 to $75 million.
Soka University of America is holding a celebration on September 29 to commemorate placement of the final roof truss on its new Performing Arts Center which is approximately 50% complete. Being constructed by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., the project is located on 1.9 acres at 1 University Drive between Founders Hall and Pauling Hall on the Soka University campus.
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. continues to strengthen its position among the top ten builders nationwide with the recent addition of Paul Yeomans as Director of Hospitality and Gaming. In this capacity, Yeomans will work with the hospitality/gaming/entertainment industry to expand and create new business opportunities for McCarthy’s Nevada Division and looks to expand McCarthy’s hospitality successes nationally.
The Association of General Contractors (AGC) of California honored McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. with a 2009 Excellence in Partnering Award for the expansion of Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.
The Dallas City Performance Hall, a 124,000-square-foot multi-phase theatre facility, will be McCarthy’s next construction undertaking in the Dallas Arts District. During phase one of construction, 45,000 square-feet will be completed. The City Performance Hall is on track to be the first LEED Silver rated performing arts facility in Texas under the United States Green Building Council and will provide a new state-of-the-art home for small and medium arts groups reflecting the diverse communities of Dallas.
