A Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) affiliate, the Mercy Medical Center opened on Apr. 23 and consolidates two existing campuses into one facility that includes an eight-level, 185-bed, 266,000-square-foot general acute tower, as well as a 19,000-square-foot central plant.

The design-build team of McCarthy and architectural firm Kwan Henmi Architecture/Planning, Inc. completed construction on College of San Mateo’s (CSM) new Health and Wellness Building with an adjacent Aquatics Center. Having started construction just fifteen months ago, McCarthy completed the 88,000-square-foot facility in San Mateo, Calif. — which is seeking LEED-Silver Certification — two months ahead of schedule.
Structural Steel Tops Out for Kaiser Permanente’s New Fontana Replacement Hospital
The replacement hospital will be one of the largest healthcare facilities in the Inland Empire
McCarthy recently topped off the structural steel on a new replacement hospital for Kaiser Permanente in Fontana. Located on the southern end of the existing Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center site, the hospital facility will replace the existing hospital tower at the campus which will later be converted for outpatient use. The approximately $700 million project, which will be one of the largest healthcare facilities in the Inland Empire, is currently ahead of schedule.
New $10.3 Million Design-Build Parking Structure Begins at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas
Construction has begun on a new five-level, 864-space parking structure on the existing campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, located at 354 Santa Fe Drive, Encinitas, Calif. Scripps Health is the developer of the $10,278,964 design-build project being built by McCarthy. Completion is scheduled for February 2011.
McCarthy Breaks Ground on Midland Memorial Hospital Expansion and Renovation
McCarthy, one of the nation’s leading health care builders, recently broke ground on the renovation and expansion of Midland Memorial Hospital. The scope of this $100 million project will include a new 240,000-square-foot, nine-story tower, as well as the renovation of an existing 100,000-square-foot hospital, upgrades to the central plant and a new five-level parking garage.
