McCarthy Propels Employee Training in the Construction Industry to the National Stage Again
McCarthy was honored this week with a 2011 Corporate University Xchange (CorpU) Award for Excellence and Innovation. This award recognizes outstanding work in corporate learning and talent development and comes on the heels of McCarthy’s placement on the prestigious 2011 Training 125 list earlier this year. The awards were presented during the Global Leadership Congress 2011, a 3-day symposium co-sponsored by CorpU and the University of Pennsylvania. New School in University City, Missouri is First Completed in 15 Years
The School District of University City hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Barbara C. Jordan Elementary School building located at 1500 N. 82nd Boulevard in University City, Mo., on Saturday, April 30. Funded through Proposition U, a $53.6 million bond issue passed in April 2009, the two-story, 60,000-square-foot building has 24 classrooms capable of accommodating up to 500 students, including specialized classrooms and specialty spaces that will enable students to do more exploratory work.
Emergency Room Department and Acute Care Unit Expansion Completed at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center

(www.mccarthy.com), one of Southern California’s preeminent healthcare builders, has recently completed construction of a replacement and expansion of emergency services and acute care units at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar, Calif. The hospital celebrated the opening of the new $53 million facility with a ribbon cutting ceremony in February 2011.
McCarthy Begins Construction for New $456 Million Scripps Cardiovascular Institute and Central Energy Plan in La Jolla
McCarthy has construction underway for the new 383,000-square-foot Scripps Cardiovascular Institute and adjacent 26,000-square-foot Central Energy Plant on the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus, located at 9888 Genesee Ave. in La Jolla, Calif. Construction completion is targeted for January 2015, with an anticipated tenant move-in date of April 2015.
