In the Community
Maybe it's because we're an employee-owned firm that has an exceptionally strong family orientation. Or because the type of employee that's attracted to McCarthy is passionate about his or her community and is equally passionate about being involved.
Regardless of the reason, McCarthy is an active part of each community where we have a presence. And rather than follow some kind of corporate mandate that dictates how charitable or community service activities should be conducted, we prefer to take a decidedly different and much more personal approach.
McCarthy’s business model is based on the notion of “community-based” building. One facet of that is that each of our business units makes a concerted effort to become a significant contributor to their individual communities.
Unlike most companies, a large portion of McCarthy’s corporate giving is driven by requests from individual employees who have a personal interest in a charitable organization. Organizations supported in 2005 included:
- Ace Mentor
- AGC Education Foundation
- Alzheimer’s Association
