McCarthy Breaks Ground on Midland Memorial Hospital Expansion and Renovation

McCarthy, one of the nation’s leading health care builders, recently broke ground on the renovation and expansion of Midland Memorial Hospital. The scope of this $100 million project will include a new 240,000-square-foot, nine-story tower, as well as the renovation of an existing 100,000-square-foot hospital, upgrades to the central plant and a new five-level parking garage.

Sacramento’s School of Engineering and Sciences Opens for Winter Term

Regent Development and McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. have completed the Sacramento City Unified School District’s (SCUSD) new campus for the School of Engineering and Sciences, which opened to students in January 2010 for the winter term.  The five-building, 39,681-square-foot campus on Havenside/Gloria Drive near Florin Road replaces the temporary campus and will house up to 500 students, grades 7-12.  WLC Architects designed the campus.

Milestone Reached on New Westminster Police Department Headquarters

McCarthy, in partnership with Griffin Structures, recently topped out the structural steel on the new Westminster Police Department Headquarters building. Located at 8200 Westminster Blvd. in Westminster, Calif., the three-level facility was topped out during a ceremony when steel workers from Pro-Steel placed the final structural steel I-beam on the braced-frame steel structure.

Heart Hats Focus on Building a Better Southern Nevada

McCarthy’s Las Vegas Heart Hats team members were busy in 2009 with projects and activities that were good for the heart and for the community. Dedicated to helping those in need and making a real difference in the community in which they live, work and play, McCarthy Heart Hats team members logged more than 500 volunteer man hours and donated their time, resources and talent to a variety of organizations and individuals in the Southern Nevada community.
