McCarthy Tops Out on AT&T Performing Arts Center

Construction has topped out on the AT&T Performing Arts Center, an 80,300-square-foot multi-form theatre facility.  Upon completion, the 600-seat Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre will provide a new state-of-the-art home for the Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Black Dance Theatre and Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico, as well as numerous other performing arts organizations that serve Dallas and the region.

Rebuilding Together – St. Louis

McCarthy prides itself on being a community builder. Chances are you have heard stories about ‘when McCarthy comes into a community it becomes part of the community.’  That was the case on a Saturday in April when a group of McCarthy employees took part in Rebuilding Together – St. Louis.  A team headed up by Midwest Estimators braved the elements and took on the task of rebuilding a home in North St. Louis County.

McCarthy Tops Out on the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center

With the final placement of a signed beam, McCarthy has completed construction of the steel structure for the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center.  Located at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif., the $21.8 million facility will be the San Fernando Valley’s most comprehensive free-standing cancer center when it opens in summer 2009.

Dallas County Detention Center South Tower Tops Out

McCarthy recently topped out on the new $63.5 million Dallas County Detention Center South Tower. Upon completion in winter 2009, this 335,000-square-foot, Level 3 dormitory-style detention center addition will serve as a replacement for two older facilities that will be retired.

ASA Midwest Council Names McCarthy General Contractor of the Year

For the third time, McCarthy has been named “General Contractor of the Year” by the Midwest Council of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), a construction trade association of specialty contractors and suppliers serving the St. Louis and Southern Illinois region.  McCarthy accepted the award at the ASA’s annual awards dinner on March 29. This is the third time McCarthy has been honored by the Association in the last four years.
