Local Builders Donate Labor And Supplies To Reroof The Laguna Beach Community Clinic

McCarthy has joined with Westcoast Roof Consulting of Costa Mesa to assemble a group of subcontractors and suppliers to help reroof the Laguna Beach Community Clinic (LBCC). Altogether, the group is expected to donate approximately $35,000 in construction materials and services to complete this project. LBCC provides a full scope of primary care services to the underserved in this area and is one of only two community clinics in south Orange County.  Dr. Korey Jorgensen, a physician at LBCC for more than 35 years, is spearheading the building effort for the clinic.

George Washington Carver School of Arts & Science in Sacramento Breaks Traditional School “Box” Model

Sacramento college-prep high school students (grades 9-12) attended their first day of classes at the George Washington Carver School of Arts & Science, the newest addition to the Sacramento Unified School District (SCUSD), located at 10101 Systems Parkway, on February 19, 2008.  The 45,808-square-foot, eight-building charter school facility is situated on 13 acres and serves a maximum of 500 students.  Constructed by McCarthy, George Washington Carver School of Arts & Science represents a mounting trend to revitalize small public high schools in the region.  The facility was developed by Regent Development, Inc. and designed by HMR Architects.

Rady Children’s Hospital Parking Structure Completed Two Weeks Early

The new $25,700,000, 332,279-square-foot, design-build parking structure for the Rady Children’s Hospital and Health Center was recently completed. The roof of the parking structure will serve as the foundation for the planned new Ronald McDonald House.
