Laboratory

• $37 million East Campus 3-story animal research facility, including 38 holding rooms including 8 conventional, 7 conventional flexible, 3 conventional flexible (cold), 12 transgenic, 8 BSL-3 and a 4th story mechanical penthouse.

• $139 million 223,000-sf National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories with state-of-the-art BSL-4, BSL-3 and BSL-2 labs, animal facilities, insectary facilities, research support space and clinical area.

• $106.5 million 213,000-sf Science Teaching Laboratory housing dry and wet laboratories, vivarium space, classrooms, offices and retail space; a connected 161,000 gsf Research Laboratory Building housing BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs, vivarium space and office space.

• $30 million CPI-Phase 2: 5,000 gsf boiler plant addition to existing boiler/chiller plant and WWPTP: 11,000 gsf 3-floor waste water pre-treatment plant. This is in addition to a recently completed $90 million Building 9, 158,000 sf Large Animal BSL-3Ag high containment laboratory, containing 22 Biosafety Level-3Ag animal rooms.

• $23.4 million, 4-story, 78,000-sf clean rodent vivarium with sophisticated mechanical and animal research systems and BSL-3 lab space.

University

• $42 million, 67,000-sf, 4-story, new library to house one of the largest collections of scholarly materials in the East Asian languages in the United States. Features include a rare book reference collection, a media and digital materials center, reference and periodical reading rooms, study rooms, offices and a book processing center.

• $82.8 million, 209,570-sf 3-building complex including a 4-story, 96,7000-sf College of Letters and Science building consisting of classrooms, offices, meeting rooms and film screening rooms; a 2-story, 15,570-sf Center for Film, Television and New Media 298-seat theater building and a 4-story, 97,300-sf Gevirtz Graduate School for Education building consisting of classrooms, faculty offices, meeting rooms and support spaces.

• $60.1 million, 150,219-sf University Academic Building four story, academic building containing classrooms, lecture halls and anatomy laboratories.

• $65 million, 4-level, 109,800-sf consisting of one new building and a modernization of one existing building to serve as replacement for the existing Mission campus. The project includes classrooms, specialty rooms and laboratories serving liberal arts classes as well as science, art, computers, graphic communications including digital imaging and printing, radio and television studios and a child care center.

Healthcare

• $400 million, 1,020,000 sf, 11-story replacement facility on the Fitzsimons campus including 262 inpatient beds, diagnostic and surgery facilities, outpatient clinics, medical staff and administrative offices and support service areas, research with BSL-3 laboratory, data center, and two parking garages for 1,200 cars.

• $130 million patient tower addition and utility upgrade program including 9-story North tower, new 32,000-sf Central Utility Plant, new main lobby and state-of-the art dietary expansion.

• $96.5 million 400,000-sf, 10-story Center for Advanced Healing patient tower addition between two existing hospital towers consisting of new main lobby, conference space, central sterile, 16 operating rooms and support space, ICU and private patient rooms and renovation of 60,000-sf of existing buildings.

• $120 million, 420,000-sf, 7-story, 200-bed patient care tower, 64-bed emergency department, 2 additional operating rooms, an expanded pharmacy, lab, food services and other departments.

• $240 million, 5-story, 430,000-sf, replacement hospital with 188 new beds, an inpatient rehab unit and a new central utility plant.

• $498 million 1,500,000 sf replacement hospital consisting of a 693,000 sf patient tower, 430,000 sf diagnostic and treatment, 325,000 sf outpatient tower, 53,000 sf central plant and sitework

• $139.5 million, diagnostic & treatment center, 4-story atrium, specialized OR suites for open heart surgery and orthopedics, cath labs, imaging department and site work -- all using base-isolator seismic technology.

• $128.3 million, 252,925-sf, 4-story patient care center with full basement and central plant.

Education K-12

• $33.1 million new Fort Zumwalt East high school; 5-story classroom tower, two gymnasiums, auditorium, cafeteria, shop facilities. Athletic complex includes football/soccer track/stadium, baseball field, two softball fields, 2 soccer fields, football practice field and 7 tennis courts.

• $53.8 million 323,000-sf new high school which includes library, auditorium, two gymnasiums, classrooms and lab space, stadium with concessions and lockers, athletic fields and 23,000 sf support/vocational facility with auto maintenance, parking transportation facility.

• $449 million capital improvement program including 250 modernization, temporary facility and new school construction projects continuing through 2010.

• $18.8 million construction management services for modernization and expansion of six high schools ($202.0 million construction value).

• $36.4 million 112,000-sf addition of three classroom buildings and renovation of existing gymnasium.

Public Works

• $50.3 million, new container yard at the Port of Houston's Bayport Terminal facility. Approximately 43 acres of various types of concrete pavement and related appurtenances.

• $109.1 million, 150,000-sf, 2-story addition to existing Satellite D Concourse (adding 14 new gates) as well as the erection of the nation's first arresting vehicle barrier system around the airport's entire perimeter.

• $46 million highway interchange renovation at IH635 and IH30 in Dallas County -- also includes the relocation of utility services, the first time that TxDOT has included this as part of a general contractor's scope of work.

• $503.5 million, 590,000-sf modernization and 45,000-sf new addition to the Tom Bradley International Terminal including replacement of the baggage handling system, all signage and digital displays, modernization of elevators and escalators, upgrades of communications and IT systems, removal and replacement of interior finishes in existing public areas and complete renovation of all public restrooms.

• $147.1 million sewage treatment plant expansion. This project consists of a new facility to provide treatment capacity of approximately 16 mgd of liquids and 24 mgd equivalent solids.

Industrial

Our industrial work is completed by MC Industrial, Inc., a wholly owned McCarthy subsidiary which specializes in industrial contracting work.

• $93.1 million, 54 mgy ethanol production facility including 15 separate fermentation and storage tanks, the largest being 981,000 gallons.

• $101 million, design/build concrete silos for raw meal (blending), clinker and cement storage -- part of the largest concrete plant in the world.

• $100 million installation of flue gas scrubbers and related equipment at existing Portage de Sioux coal-fired plant.

• $7.8 million 75,000-sf building addition to existing Toyota truck plant including a 20,000-sf mezzanine over the final line to increase storage area.
