PROJECT DETAILS

This critical care hospital addition will allow Mission Hospital to provide the most advanced high-tech diagnostic and critical care services to its growing community. The project is scheduled for completion in late 2009.

The 106,465-sf, four-level patient care tower will more than double Mission's intensive-care capacity while providing the newest, state-of-the-art medical technology and services to the existing 301-bed hospital. The new facility will house medical/surgical beds, ICU beds, diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, a linear accelerator, a chapel, a meditation garden and mechanical space in the basement.

McCarthy is also constructing an underground tunnel and a 175-foot-long pedestrian bridge that will connect the new patient tower with the main hospital building on the third floor.

The project also includes 11 months of significant site work such as the installation of new utilities, re-configuring the entrance to the hospital and parking lot and demolishing an existing two-story conference center.
