Our Work

Marine Civil Construction: Ports & Expansions

McCarthy marine civil construction teams have worked with some of the largest, busiest ports in the United States on expansion and design projects. We have extensive experience in port construction and other civil construction projects that help improve the infrastructure of some of our most important coastal areas.

McCarthy Port Construction & Expansion Projects

Port of Port Arthur

McCarthy's work on the Port of Port Arthur included a P 2800 ft. concrete dock, a 32" cast-in-pace concrete deck with railroad tracks, and a 250,000-sf warehouse.

Port Freeport Velasco Terminal

Our project for Port Freeport, one of the fastest-growing ports on the Gulf Coast, significantly expands their capacity. McCarthy's work will allow Port Freeport to unload an additional one to two container ships per day, adding up to over 700 additional container ships throughout the year.

Port of Houston Projects

McCarthy has worked with the Port of Houston on multiple projects. Our recently completed Terminal Container Yard project was our first civil construction project to make use of Roller Compacted Concrete. Our 1,332 foot Phase I Wharf Extension utilized more than 30,000 cubic yards of concrete and included a rail track supporting three mobile gantry cranes.
