PROJECT DETAILS
The 90,000-sf Health and Wellness Building is part of the voter-approved Capital Improvement Program II, which utilized a design-build delivery method. McCarthy collaborated with architects, consultants, subcontractors early on to deliver the College of San Mateo campus two new buildings, extensive site work improvements, including various infrastructure, landscaping and hardscaping upgrades and a 140,000-sf College Center.
The Health and Wellness Building contains classrooms for the college’s Cosmetology, Nursing, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, and Physical Education programs, as well as the San Mateo Athletic Club and an aquatic center.
