    Jim leads the business development efforts for the Advanced Technology & Manufacturing business unit of McCarthy.

    Jim has 34 years of experience in the construction industry working on projects across the nation. He has worked on major building projects for a variety of Fortune 500 companies and nationally-recognized institutions including Cornell University, US Department of Agriculture, Washington University in St. Louis, Mercy Hospital System, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Energy, Pfizer and Monsanto. He has served as an architectural project manager, construction project manager, chief estimator and preconstruction director for both small and mega-building contractors.

    Jim serves on the St. Louis Partnership Business Expansion and Retention Committee and is a member of the Design-Build Institute of America, Construction Management Association of America, Associated General Contractors Construction Industry Institute and is a voting member for the Global Lab of the Year Award.  

    Jim has authored or co-authored numerous technical journal articles related to laboratories and other technical facilities as well as presented at professional conferences.

    Paul King is responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams, and seeking out new business opportunities in the San Diego region. He brings nearly 13 years of experience in the construction industry.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also leads McCarthy’s Heart Hats philanthropic focus in San Diego.

    With more than 15 years of industry experience in business development and operations, Sam Stiteler serves as a Director for Business Development for McCarthy in the Southeast. With primary focus on Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Clean Industrial, Marine and Aviation segments, Sam works closely with clients, potential clients and concept/design partners to ensure McCarthy is surpassing expectations.

    Sam has long served both nationally and locally with Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), including currently serving as the National Chairman of ABC Safety Committee, Industrial Steering Committee Chair for the 2017 ABC Users Summit, a Free Enterprise Alliance (FEA) Trustee and a member of the National Business Development Committee. On the local level, Sam has served multiple terms on the ABC Georgia Chapter Board of Directors, including serving as 2014 Chapter Chairman.

    With nearly 15 years of experience in business development and marketing, Tuyet is vice president for business development in our San Francisco office and an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). She has secured successful multi-million dollar healthcare and science & technology projects while directing overall development of strategic relationships with clients and analyzing market assessments. Other strengths include marketing plans and analysis, business development strategy and mentoring marketing and project staff on submittals.

    As Vice President in Houston, Preston Hodges oversees the McCarthy Specialized Solutions Group, as well as leads business development and client service efforts in the region. He joined McCarthy as a Project Manager, moving up to Senior Project Manager before being named Project Director in 2016. During this time, Preston was instrumental in launching the McCarthy Specialized Solutions Group in 2014, serving the specific project needs of the Texas Medical Center and surrounding institutions. Since the group’s rollout, McCarthy has successfully executed more than $80 million in work for these clients.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Preston is an active member of the AGC of Houston, AGC Construction Futures Committee, American Society of Healthcare Engineers, American Hospital Association and served on the AGC Construction Leadership Council Board. Volunteer projects include working with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, Texas Children’s Hospital and the American Heart Association. Preston is a licensed Certified Healthcare Constructor and holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate.

    Based in Kansas City, Barry Sutherland is primarily responsible for new business development, client services and marketing with a focus on fostering relationships with Healthcare, Education, and Science & Technology clients in the region. He began his career with McCarthy managing marketing for McCarthy's Science & Technology business development team for three years, before transitioning to lead business development efforts in Kansas City.

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Barry is a strong advocate for sustainability efforts at McCarthy and on the firm’s building projects. He is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, having served as president of the St. Louis chapter, chair of the national Build Business conference, and a variety of roles with the Kansas City chapter, including currently serving as the Sponsorship Chair. In addition, he serves on the Olathe Chamber’s Business-to-Government Committee, the Kansas City Area Healthcare Engineer’s Social Committee, and The University of Kansas Hospital’s Young Professional’s Alliance. He and his wife live with their family in Olathe, Kansas.

With more than 38 years of experience in the construction industry, Lewis offers knowledge of educational and liturgical facilities, retail complexes, healthcare facilities, commercial office buildings, hotels, museum and fine arts, retirement communities and multi-family housing. His extensive experience includes estimating, subcontract negotiations, project administration, cost control and scheduling. 

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Tad has served as a board member of Rice Design Alliance, Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Houston Chapter and AGC Houston. He is also active in NAIOP, CoreNet, USGBC, AGC, CHPS, CEFPI, SMPS and ULI.
