McCarthy Named One of Kansas City’s Healthiest Employers
McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. has been named a 2016 honoree of the Kansas City Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers award. This recognition celebrates companies for their focus on encouraging employees to maintain and improve health on a daily basis. McCarthy was acknowledged at a luncheon on February 9 at the Sheraton in Overland Park, Kan., with acceptance by McCarthy Kansas City Director Barry Sutherland.
“We are proud to have been a finalist for this award,” said Sutherland. “Our corporate value system places a strong emphasis on a team-based culture. We understand our people are our most valuable asset and are committed to encourage and promote health and wellness for individuals, which will in turn do the same for productivity and growth.”
The Healthiest Employers award program evaluates organizations using six key categories: culture and leadership commitment, foundational components, strategic planning, communication and marketing, programming and interventions, and reporting and analysis. McCarthy was recognized in the category for 1,000 - 3,499 employees.
McCarthy opened a divisional office in Kansas City in 2013, adding to the St. Louis-based, 152-year-old construction company’s national footprint of 14 regions. The Kansas City office joins several other divisions to be selected Healthiest Employers, including Dallas, Houston, St. Louis and Sacramento, among others.
