McCarthy Promotes John Buescher to Central Region President
McCarthy recently selected John Buescher, PE, LEED AP BD+C to serve as president of the firm’s Central Region. Based in McCarthy’s St. Louis office, Buescher will be responsible for managing company operations from the Rockies to the East Coast not including the Southeast. Buescher replaces Scott Wittkop who was promoted to corporate president and chief operating officer for McCarthy Holdings, Inc.
With nearly 25 total years of experience in design and construction, Buescher joined McCarthy in 1998 as an assistant project superintendent and worked his way up to manage advanced technology and manufacturing operations as vice president for McCarthy’s Central Division. Most recently he served as senior vice president managing healthcare operations for the division prior to assuming his new position.

A professional mechanical engineer and LEED Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council, Buescher holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University. He is an active member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers and also holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.
In addition to his strong industry involvement, Buescher is committed to giving back to the local community. Among other activities, he currently serves as president of the board of directors for The Women’s Safe House in St. Louis and is active in local youth sports.
