McCarthy is proud to sponsor the Architecture, Construction, Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program of America to engage, excite and enlighten high school students about the wealth of career opportunities in architecture, engineering and construction. This partnership is just one element of the company’s broad approach to educate the next generation of builders to ensure our industry remains well-positioned to deliver the facilities our communities need to grow and thrive.

Founded in 1994, the ACE Mentor Program is an afterschool program where more than 4,100 industry professionals volunteer to mentor more than 10,000 students drawn from approximately 1,100 high schools across the country. McCarthy mentors collaborate with participating students to introduce construction and the many different career opportunities available.

“Construction is the engine of our economy and offers many rewarding career options,” explains McCarthy President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Wittkop. “Every day is different, challenging and rewarding. It’s a great way to support a family. When you drive by a project that you helped build, there is an incredible feeling of pride. We want to develop the next generation of builders who will be the industry leaders of tomorrow.”

Committed to strengthening our communities, McCarthy puts tremendous value on training and developing skilled professionals in the construction industry. Along with expanding the pipeline of future talent, outreach efforts are a force multiplier for expanding the diversity in our industry. As one of the nation’s premier building companies, McCarthy is dedicated to increasing diversity within our industry and expanding opportunities for all. We recently took the Associated General Contractors of America Culture of CARE pledge because we believe in taking action across our organization, industry and communities.

If you’re interested in helping build the future of the construction industry, here are a few ways you can get involved with the ACE Mentor Program:

About the ACE Mentor Program

Founded in 1994, ACE, which stands for Architecture, Construction and Engineering, works to engage, excite and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering and construction through mentoring and to support their continued advancement in the industry. The main objective is to work with underrepresented students who do not have the guidance and support to help them uncover opportunities for their future. Volunteer industry professionals mentor students and lead them through a hands-on simulation of designing and constructing buildings.
