McCarthy Announces Opening of New Office in Illinois
With more than $200 million in construction currently underway in Illinois, McCarthy is pleased to announce the opening of our new Southern Illinois office to better service clients and partners in the state. Our work experience in Illinois reaches back nearly 50 years, totaling more than $1 billion in work. In fact, 176 of McCarthy’s 805 “local” employees currently live in Illinois.
“We are committed to providing the best construction services that we can to our clients in Southern Illinois, and this new office helps solidify that commitment,” stated Scott Wittkop, president of McCarthy’s Central Division. “We look forward to a continued run of successful projects in Illinois in the coming years.”
Currently, McCarthy has a number of significant projects underway in Illinois, including the construction of a new, 134-bed, 359,000-square-foot replacement hospital and a 141,000-square-foot medical office building for Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mount Vernon. McCarthy and Jefferson County-based partners Shores Builders and Lipps Construction broke ground on the hospital project in April 2010 and expect to complete work by October of 2012.
Another McCarthy project is St. Joseph’s Hospital in Highland. McCarthy teamed with Highland-based firm Korte & Luitjohan Contractors and is currently providing preconstruction services for this greenfield hospital in Madison County for Hospital Sisters Health System. Also under contract is the new 95,000-square-foot Student Services Building for Southern Illinois University Carbondale, awarded to McCarthy in August.
McCarthy’s new Illinois office, located at 1604 Eastport Plaza Drive in Collinsville, was completed in December. Jeff Boyer will lead the Illinois office as director of operations with business development support from Stacy Robben.
