The 203,000-square-foot, four-story Children’s Health Specialty Center 2 is an innovative building featuring a variety of interdisciplinary services for the families of North Texas, including sports rehabilitation, injury prevention, training and nutrition for youth athletes, outpatient surgery and imaging and community provider clinics.

Christus Spohn Health System

Christus Spohn Health System

The CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Master Facility Plan included more than 1 million square feet of demolition, 400,00 square feet of new construction and 160,000 square feet of renovations at the Shoreline and Memorial CHRISTUS Spohn campuses.

Emory University Hospital, J-Wing

A 450,000-square-foot, nine-story, 230-bed replacement hospital in the heart of Emory University's campus. This LEED Silver project features patient care units for cancer and transplant, diagnostic and treatment spaces, intensive care unit rooms, general medicine and surgery rooms and operating rooms.

Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton

Located on a 67-acre campus, this 500,000-square-foot design-build hospital provides modern, safe and effective medical care for 70,000 of our nation’s veterans and heroes. The facility is LEED Gold certified, designed to meet California’s stringent seismic regulations and was delivered $100 million under budget.

Research Facility and Laboratory Experience

Centers for Disease Control

This 11-story, 370,000-square-foot emerging infectious diseases laboratory facility for the CDC in Atlanta includes Biosafety Levels 2, 3 and 4 laboratories. This facility doubled the CDC’s existing BSL-4 capacity. BSL-4 labs are the highest-containment laboratories in existence, and construction required specialized equipment and high-quality construction techniques to create an absolutely air-tight environment.

ASU – Biodesign Institute C Research Building

ENR’s 2018 Project of the Year, this 191,036-sqaure-foot LEED Platinum facility includes five stories, a mechanical penthouse, and 60,000 square feet of flexible lab space. The building’s adaptable design accommodates multiple types of scientific research, including chemistry, biological sciences and engineering research.

OHSU Knight Cancer Research Center

The seven-floor, 320,000-square-foot LEED Platinum research center features wet and dry lab space, administrative offices, a 200-seat auditorium, cafes and ground-floor retail space. The Integrated Project Delivery method ensured streamlined communication and strategic alignment of goals throughout the project.

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies East Building

The three-level, 116,000-square-foot facility consists of two mirror-image wings joined by an open-air plaza at the entrance and underground. Each wing contains undifferentiated, contiguous lab space, as well as lab support areas. Using innovative concrete forming methods, McCarthy constructed full-height concrete shear walls along the perimeter of both wings to enhance user flexibility by freeing up lab spaces at any permanent wall.
