Airport Water Reclamation Facility
This McCarthy civil construction project included the expansion of an existing wastewater treatment facility from 10 million gallons per day (MGD) to 22 MGD. Work included a new cast-in-place pre-stage basin, aeration basins, secondary clarifier basins, flocculation basins, solids storage tanks, reservoir and support facilities. All equipment, piping, electrical and controls for a functional facility were also included. This project utilized process piping modeling extensively to ensure quality and expedite procurement, fabrication and self-performed installation of the process piping.
The project also included a remodel to the existing Headworks Building in order to accept increased plant flows (while maintaining operability of the structure and facility). The odor control and chemical feed facilities were also upgraded.
