Nayan Bhakta

As Chief Operating Officer for McCarthy’s National Renewable Energy group, Nayan Bhakta leads operational execution across utility-scale solar and energy storage projects nationwide. He also serves on the firm’s Renewable Energy leadership team, partnering to drive execution and results for our clients across the group’s projects nationwide.  

Nayan joined McCarthy in December 2014 as a preconstruction manager before ultimately elevating to the vice president of preconstruction, supporting pursuit and preconstruction efforts for more than 1.6 GW of projects, including what was then the world’s largest energy storage project. Nayan was instrumental in more than quadrupling the renewable group’s solar footprint in less than two years. Prior to McCarthy, he worked domestically and internationally designing and constructing large petrochemical projects.  

Nayan led the development of a customized onboarding program to help new team members transition smoothly to remote solar project locations—a model that has since influenced onboarding practices across McCarthy’s nationwide offices. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arizona.
