Michaela Rempkowski leads McCarthy Building Companies’ business development team for the national water and wastewater group. Michaela and her team are focused on growing the group’s national footprint while developing and fostering client partnerships.
Michaela previously led the growth of the national group’s design integration team, facilitating solutions to fold into the construction cost model, schedule, constructability and value engineering feedback, and safety. Her team’s focus on the effective integration of design and construction allows owners to expect a seamless transition from design to construction with fewer surprises, increased safety, and comprehensive innovation during construction of major infrastructure projects.
Michaela is a licensed professional chemical engineer with over a decade of industry experience, spending a majority of her career as a process engineer designing and managing municipal water and wastewater design-build projects across the country. Since graduating college, she has been an active board member with the Society of Professional Engineers in New Mexico, Kansas, Arizona, and nationally. In 2023, she became the President of the Arizona Society of Professional Engineers and the National Honors and Awards Committee Chair as well. Michaela is an active member of AWWA, with a history of participating as a leader at the local level and on the International Council at the National Level. She is a DBIA-Certified professional and has dedicated her career to collaborative delivery by continuing to be a major contributor and leader of best practices and project delivery guides, presentations and committees through Water Collaborative Delivery Association (WCDA), the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and AWWA’s Capital Project Delivery Committee.
Her notable accomplishments include being named one of Engineering News Record’s Southwest Top 20 under 40 in 2024, one of Wastewater Digest’s Top Young Professionals in 2023, and Arizona Society of Professional Engineers’ Engineer of the Year in 2023.
