LEGOLAND Parking Structure
Carlsbad, CA
The LEGOLAND California Resort Parking Structure is a four-story, 372,000 square-foot structure with 1,130 stalls, including 57 EV-ready stalls. This parking structure was strategically designed to increase parking accommodations for guests and facilitate park expansion and development at LEGOLAND California Resort.
Having worked with LEGOLAND California Resort previously, including the existing employee parking structure and the Deep Sea Adventure ride, the project team was well versed in working outside an operating park with unmatched safety standards and operations.
Incorporating similar systems and aesthetics as the completed employee parking structure, the guest parking structure was delivered via design-build to allow careful coordination with theme park operations teams within the active entertainment environment.
For this structure, McCarthy utilized a concrete maturity monitoring technology that features embedded sensors. This guided the team with insights not generally available in traditional concrete pouring, leading the way for modern parking build technological innovation.
