City of Las Vegas City Parkway Garage
Las Vegas, NV
Situated in the heart of the Symphony district in Downtown Las Vegas, the City Parkway Garage serves as a vital parking resource for the rapidly evolving area. The parking expansion project was funded by the City of Las Vegas as a critical infrastructure improvement to support the continued development of the City’s vibrant cultural and civic hub.
This vertical expansion added three additional levels to the existing municipal garage, increasing the total number of floors to seven and expanding the parking capacity to 1,092 stalls. The expansion was thoughtfully designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing structure, ensuring a consistent and cohesive user experience throughout the garage. Additionally, a vehicular bridge conveniently connects the expanded City Parkway Garage to the existing City Hall Garage, located across railroad tracks.
Expanding an operational parking garage presented numerous challenges. The project team had to address structural requirements to accommodate the additional weight of the third additional story. Originally designed for a two-floor expansion, an innovative solution allowed the team to maximize the garage’s capacity while maintaining structural integrity.
One of the most significant and complex aspects of the project was the planning and construction of a vehicle bridge connecting the City Parkway Garage to the nearby City Hall Garage. This bridge allows seamless vehicular flow between the two garages and provides essential flexibility and capacity during peak usage periods.
