In downtown Kansas City, a McCarthy-led design-build team is steering the development of a seven-level, 1,245-stall employee parking garage on the main campus of Children’s Mercy. This cast-in-place concrete structure will connect directly to an underground pedestrian tunnel, giving employees safe, weather-protected access to the hospital.
Through our “Inside the Build” series, we’re pulling back the curtain on the construction process by documenting the day-to-day realities of bringing this new building to life. That includes highlighting key milestones, unexpected complications and extraordinary teamwork.
Rather than publishing carefully crafted project descriptions or polished case studies, we’ll be sharing first-hand perspectives from the McCarthy team members and partners whose expertise is vital to the project’s ultimate success. We’ll also include plenty of photos, videos and drone footage to provide you with a front-row seat as the build continues to unfold.
