Dhruv Patel

As President of McCarthy’s Renewable Energy group, Dhruv Patel provides strategic leadership for all renewable energy projects and teams across the United States. Since joining McCarthy in 2013, Dhruv has been a driving force behind the growth and evolution of the Renewable Energy group, leveraging his technical expertise and strategic vision to deliver innovative solutions for clients nationwide. 

With a background spanning renewable and conventional power plants, transmission lines, and substation design and construction, Dhruv has played a pivotal role in expanding McCarthy’s portfolio from 21 MW of solar projects to more than 100 projects totaling 17+ GW of solar energy and over 9 GWh of energy storage, significantly contributing to the United States' transition to clean energy. His leadership has helped position McCarthy as a trusted partner in utility-scale solar and energy storage, recognized for delivering successful outcomes on some of the most complex renewable energy projects in the industry. McCarthy has been named as a ‘Top Solar Contractor’ by Solar Power World since 2013. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Arizona State University. Dhruv previously served as a Leadership Circle Member in the Energy Storage Association, working to advance the renewable energy sector and driving innovation in energy storage solutions. His dual expertise in technical engineering and business strategy continues to shape McCarthy’s ability to deliver high-performing, sustainable energy solutions to clients nationwide. He was also recognized as one of the 2025 ENR Southwest Top Young Professionals.
