SAFETY

My favorite safety quote for the crew is, 'If you see something, say something.' The more we emphasize safety to our crew, they will embrace it and eventually go to other projects and be the ones preaching McCarthy's safety culture. At the end of the day, we value our McCarthy team and want to make sure every person goes back to their loved ones.

Making sure we’re safe is important as safety should always come first. We need to make a place where everyone feels like they can speak up safely. When we listen to each other and keep safety in mind, we’re looking out for each other and making things better for everyone.

Ernesto Zuniga Labor General Foreman

Safety is not just being responsible for my wellbeing, but it’s also ensuring those that I lead and mentor have the same passion for their safety and wellbeing.

Sonja Ross Solar General Foreman

When it comes to safety, no shortcuts should ever be taken. I always tell my crew that if you see a safety issue, you own it. Everyone is a safety person at McCarthy, which is amazing knowing we can stop work being performed if it is unsafe. No matter what position you are in the company, our goal is to have every employee go home safe to their family every day.

Eduardo Gamez Carpenter

For me and the company I work for, safety isn’t just a word, it is essential to create a safe and effective work environment that at the same time reflects the excellent work culture in which I am involved in every day.

Concrete pour at ASU.

This vertical concrete pour took place at McCarthy’s ISTB12 project at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus in Mesa, Arizona. The three-person crew included Jesus Yanez and Carlos Carrillo operating the boom, and Joseph Gonzales directing the concrete truck. They used a 47-meter pump provided by Mardian Concrete Pumping. McCarthy’s finishers completed the final vertical pour on May 1, eight days ahead of schedule. Congrats to the team and craft professionals involved!
