Eric Hoffman

Eric J. Hoffman is Senior Vice President of Operations for McCarthy’s Newport Beach office, where he leads operations across a diverse portfolio of complex healthcare, education, parking, and commercial projects. He oversees project execution, self-perform strategy, and operational excellence, while actively mentoring project leaders and building strong partnerships with clients and trade partners. A recognized expert in design-build delivery, Eric is well versed in progressive design-build, collaborating closely with owners and design teams from early concept through execution to drive value, reduce risk, and deliver high-performing structures.  

Over his career at McCarthy, Eric has been a key operations leader in the Southern Pacific Region, particularly on large, technically demanding projects, including multiple large, mega-scale healthcare, higher education, life science, and commercial developments across the region. Prior to his current role, Eric served as the Regional Senior Vice President of Operations for McCarthy’s Southern Region, based in Dallas, TX. There, he focused on talent development, organizational structure, and operational systems to support the region’s growth, an experience that broadened his perspective on new markets, delivery methods, and project types. 

Eric is also a visible champion of operational excellence, leadership development, and emerging technologies, including the practical use of AI to enhance how teams plan, build, and operate projects. He designs and facilitates training for regional leaders, driving consistent approaches to contracts, project setup, self-perform planning, and execution across the Southern Pacific Region. Beyond McCarthy, Eric has served on the board of the American Heart Association OC chapter and remains active in several industry and community organizations, reflecting his commitment to advancing and supporting the communities where he lives and works.
