Chief Operating Officer, Mission Critical
As Chief Operating Officer for McCarthy’s National Mission Critical group, Justin Dent provides oversight for operations during the design and construction phases of the group’s national data center and mission critical projects. With an emphasis on craft and self-perform, Justin provides key business planning for the region’s shared services, including safety, scheduling and quality. In his nearly three decades with McCarthy, Justin’s leadership among these groups has shaped them to support both McCarthy’s provision of successful project outcomes to key clients, as well as the mission critical group’s contribution to a national safety culture that continues to surpass industry averages.
Since joining McCarthy in 1999 as a project engineer, Justin has amassed extensive experience in managing complex construction projects, holding multiple leadership roles including Chief Operating Officer of the Southwest region, within McCarthy’s Southwest Education and Arizona Commercial business units, and National Renewable Energy group. This diversity in operational experiences has cemented his commitment to advancing the company’s standards in safety, quality, scheduling, and execution.
Holding a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering management from Oregon State University, Justin is actively involved in business organizations, seeking to impart lessons learned and advocate for the continued advancement of construction safety practices within the region. He serves on the board of the Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA), where he was Chairman in 2024.
