Wendy Hatchell has led Human Resources for McCarthy Building Companies’ Southern Region for the last 10 years, overseeing talent, development and organizational strategy for over 1000 employees. She was recently tapped to lead the company’s Strategic Planning and Change Management effort as the VP of Strategic Initiatives beginning January 2024 and has since been promoted to Senior Vice President of Strategy in June 2024. With close to 20 years in Human Resources and Talent Strategy, Wendy started her HR career at Bloomberg, LLP in New York City as part of the College Recruiting team. She quickly found her passion for helping leaders manage, coach and develop teams. Wendy spent time both in the United States and South America Brazil as the HR Business Partner for Latin American operations, supporting all technology, media and sales operations across six countries. After leaving Bloomberg, Wendy spent time back in NYC with McCann Erickson and Morgan Stanley, the firm that eventually relocated her to Dallas. Wendy has been in Dallas, Texas for over 15 years where she resides with her husband and two kiddos.
Wendy is a graduate of Penn State University, with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She is the founder and past president of Pre-Geneva Association, a nonprofit that fundraises for and connects young families with the local Dallas ISD elementary school, Geneva Heights, in East Dallas. Additionally, she completed her executive coach training through Berkeley’s Executive Coaching Institute and is actively involved in McCarthy’s Partnership for Women program, which supports women engineers through activities and mentorship.
