As CEO for McCarthy’s National Mission Critical group, John is responsible for overseeing the long-term success and strategy for the firm’s national business. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry to this leadership role. Prior to this, John served as leader of McCarthy’s self-perform leadership team. As one of the nation’s leading self-performing builders, this effort included collaborating across the business to streamline processes to deliver great experience for the firm’s craft workforce.
John joined McCarthy in 1998 as an assistant superintendent and moved through several core operations roles including superintendent, project manager and project executive. In 2015, he was promoted to president of the firm's Central Region, which covers 28 states east of the Rockies, where he focused on growing the business by expanding services and recruiting and retaining top talent, all while delivering best-in-class outcomes to McCarthy’s clients. In 2024, John was promoted to CEO for McCarthy’s Central Region.
With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, he works with the executive leadership team to deliver on the goals of the broader organization.
John graduated with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and earned an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.
