UNMC CORE Building Integral to Omaha's New EDGE District
The University of Nebraska CORE (Campus Operations Research Excellence) Building is a transformative, approximately 190,000-square-foot, seven-story facility located within the newly developed UNMC EDGE District in Omaha, Nebraska. This state-of-the-art building is designed to advance the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s mission by supporting both computer-based and wet lab-based research, with a particular focus on drug discovery, oncology, and other strategic scientific areas.
Situated in the EDGE District—a new urban, mixed-use development spearheaded by UNMC—the CORE Building is integral to a broader vision of creating a hub for health-focused innovation, entrepreneurship, and commercialization. The district, located west of UNMC’s main campus, is designed to foster collaboration, attract new businesses, and stimulate economic development within Nebraska, while also creating a vibrant community for students, researchers, and the public.
