Centers for Disease Control

This 11-story, 370,000-square-foot emerging infectious diseases laboratory facility for the CDC in Atlanta includes Biosafety Levels 2, 3 and 4 laboratories. Included is adjacent office areas, as well as an attached five-story facility to provide space for specialized functions, including analytical equipment labs, molecular biology suites and a central glass wash facility.

Biosafety Level 4 labs are the highest-containment laboratories in existence, and the new Level 4 lab at the Emerging Infectious Disease Laboratory doubled the CDC’s existing Level 4 capacity. It is also one of only five such high-containment laboratories in North America. Building the Biosafety Level 4 laboratory required specialized equipment and high-quality construction techniques to create an absolutely air-tight environment.

The project also included the construction of a new three-level, 48,000-square-foot Central Utility Plant, supplying all mechanical, electrical and plumbing requirements for Building 18 and a number of future projects on the main campus.

The attitude your team took in working with us at CDC was the "way it should be" on a major construction project, with the Construction Manager really managing the work, as a true "builder" should. I guess that's what you get when you work with McCarthy - a true builder mentality. You can see it in your culture and business philosophy.
