    As vice president, Sarah Carr is focused on building strong relationships with clients and industry partners in the Southern California education market. Sarah brings more than two decades of field and operations experience to her role, having held a variety of positions including vice president operations, project manager, assistant project manager, senior project engineer and project engineer. Over the course of her career, she has played a key role in more than $1 billion in work in Southern California, including the $615 million Hollywood & Highland Entertainment Retail Complex and $238 million Huntington Beach Union High School District modernization and expansion. Committed to helping other women in the construction industry develop and succeed, Sarah was co-founder of Women in Construction Operations (WiOPS) in 2013 and currently sits on the organization’s board of directors. She also serves on the national committee for the McCarthy Partnership for Women employee resource group. A Designated Design-Build Professional and LEED AP BD+C with the U.S. Green Building Council, Sarah is a board member for the Associated General Contractors of California and is also active with the Coalition for Adequate School Housing and the Design-Build Institute of America.

    Alan Carroll is an Executive Vice President for the firm’s Southern California Region, overseeing McCarthy’s Parking Structure Business Unit in the region. Under his guidance, McCarthy has become the leading parking structure builder in the state, delivering parking solutions for healthcare, commercial, education and government clients.

    With nearly 40 years of construction industry experience, Al has spent more than 26 of these with McCarthy, beginning his career as a Preconstruction Director and moving up to his current position. An expert in both traditional general contracting and design-build project delivery, he understands the unique challenges of parking construction projects and brings this expertise to bear on every project.

    In addition to his role with McCarthy, Al is a certified member of the Design-Build Institute of America.

    With nearly 25 years of development and construction experience, Tony helps oversee McCarthy’s education market in Southern California to ensure effective execution and strong client relationships. During his career, Tony has served as a project superintendent, project director, division manager, project manager, regional executive, director of preconstruction. He continues to play a key role in pursuing opportunities that focus on creating an exceptional client experience and challenges for our partners. He holds a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering management from Oregon State University.

    Paul King has more than 15 years of business development and marketing experience for the construction industry where he has focused on healthcare, commercial, parking structure, education, and specialty projects. In his role as vice president, business development, he is responsible for overseeing the business development and marketing team in Southern California while maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams and seeking out new business opportunities throughout the region.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and San Diego County Chapters and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also has been involved with various philanthropic programs including the Boys and Girls Club, Warrior Foundation Freedom Center, March of Dimes and the American Heart Association along with supporting the philanthropic efforts of McCarthy clients including Sharp Healthcare, Scripps Health and Rady Children’s Hospital.

    Matt Lawson is responsible for McCarthy legal affairs nationwide. Matt began with McCarthy as Region counsel and then associate general counsel prior to assuming his current position as senior vice president/general counsel.

Jim is an active member of the Coalition of Adequate School Housing (CASH), CMAA and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). He is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Science in construction management engineering.

    Named regional president in January 2018, Mike reports directly to McCarthy President and COO Scott Wittkop. Mike formerly served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Castle Contracting for more than 16 years. During his tenure as COO of Castle, he was responsible for all field and office operations as well as the business development and estimating functions. Under his leadership, Castle has grown to a highly successful business with over 200 employees. After the McCarthy acquisition of Castle in late 2014, Mike became Executive Vice President and a member of the McCarthy Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to his relocation to California, Mike was also associated with the ACE Mentor Program of St. Louis, AGC of Missouri, Eastern Missouri Laborers and the Flags of Valor organization.

An expert in working efficiently with the California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, Patrick is committed to collaborating closely with all project team members to deliver an exceptional experience for clients, caregivers, patients and communities.

    Patrick is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Since joining McCarthy in 2012, he has been instrumental in establishing the company as a builder of choice within the life science, hospitality, gaming, entertainment, parking, water, renewable, and specialty service markets. In addition to overseeing operations, Jeff reinforces our commitment to providing value - integrating McCarthy’s in-house skilled labor to provide innovative building solutions throughout a project’s life cycle. 

    A dedicated member of the community, Jeff has served on various committees for the Associated General Contractors and is an advocate for building stronger partnerships within our workforce. He lends his leadership and talent to support numerous organizations including the American Heart Association and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. His passion for developing teams as well as the construction industry has led to numerous professional achievements from leading award-winning projects teams, and Top Workplace offices to being recognized as an Engineering News-Record Southwest Top 20 Under 40 and Vegas Inc’ 40 under 40 recipient.
