    Mark Crosby, AAE, is the Vice President of Aviation for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. An accredited airport executive (AAE), Crosby is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in airport security, operations and planning, emergency management and public safety.  

    Crosby has more than 30 years of experience in aviation at the airport systems in Portland and Sacramento, working in the areas of operations, real estate, security, economic development, and public safety. Most recently, Crosby was the principal consultant, business development lead, project executive, and subject matter expert for Ross & Baruzzini’s aviation security, emergency management, maritime and public safety clients. At McCarthy, Crosby is responsible for enhancing McCarthy’s relationships with the aviation community as well as broadening the firm’s aviation experience. 

    In addition to his work with McCarthy, Crosby serves in leadership positions at many aviation organizations, including the American Association of Airport Executives, Airports Council International, Aviation Security Advisory Committee, and the International Association of Airport Executives. He is also a brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force as an active reservist and the Assistant Adjutant General for the Oregon National Guard (ORNG) responsible for emergency management.  Joint Task Force and Dual Status Commander-certified, he provides direction to elements of the ORNG for developing and executing plans, policies, and programs. 

    Crosby is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in business management and earned his MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University.

    Ian McQuoid serves as Senior Vice President of Operations and Sacramento Business Unit Leader for McCarthy’s Northern Pacific Region. With nearly 25 years of experience leading projects throughout Northern California, Ian plays an instrumental role in cultivating high-performing teams, while strengthening the strategies and near-term opportunities for growth across multiple markets.

    Ian is a tenured McCarthy leader, known for his commitment to developing strong teams and long-standing relationships across the region and in Sacramento. Ian’s background leading projects from Fresno to Yreka and San Jose to San Francisco enables him to offer clients across the market a broad and well-rounded perspective. His diverse and expansive knowledge of the industry serves as a north star for his involvement in many important projects across the region.

    Ann Poppen is the Senior Vice President of Operations in McCarthy’s Northern Pacific region. She serves as the primary point of contact across preconstruction and construction phases of client projects to ensure effective implementation of quality and safety programs, cost control and project close-out.  

    Since joining the McCarthy team as Project Director in 2018, Ann has been instrumental in helping NorPac win key projects like Stanislaus County’s New Modesto Courthouse and is responsible for overseeing a collaborative integrated CM-at-Risk delivery model. Ann raises the bar for success through her energy, knowledge and people-first attitude. 

    Ann brings more than 30 years of operational experience in design, planning, preconstruction design phase services and project execution. With extensive expertise in design phase services and operations, Ann has the added understanding of project life cycle considerations. Her people-first approach has helped her lead initiatives like McCarthy’s Director Peer Group. She is LEED AP certified and a member of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).

    "Rodney serves as Senior Vice President Operations of specialty markets for McCarthy’s Northern Pacific Region. Rodney brings more than 27 years of experience in the construction industry and is responsible for integrating various McCarthy departments into each parking structure and renewable energy project, facilitating necessary conversations between different teams to foster collaboration and productivity and anticipate any potential conflicts. Rodney has a gift for discovering the hidden opportunities that make projects great, by keeping an open mind to different ideas while targeting solutions that maximize value to project stakeholders.  

    Rodney is the past president for American Society of Professional Estimators and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Sacramento Chapter."

  • Shaun Sleeth

    Shaun Sleeth

    Shaun Sleeth is responsible for overseeing all McCarthy operations in the Northern Pacific Region. He has been with McCarthy his entire career, serving in a number of field and leadership positions before assuming his current role.

    After graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in construction management from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Shaun joined McCarthy’s Southern California Region, serving as a project engineer and project manager. He moved into the role of quality director, earning an “Excellence in Teaming” award from the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) for the St. Jude Medical Center Northwest Tower. In 2015 he served as business development director for the firm’s healthcare market in Southern California, and prior to his current role, he served as executive vice president, overseeing McCarthy’s operations throughout the California Central Valley and north into Oregon.

    By leveraging his knowledge of local and national construction markets, commitment to Lean principles and progressive delivery methods, along with his proven field experience, Shaun is driven to lead teams that help McCarthy’s Northern Pacific clients build impactful projects that shape the landscape, support the local community, and achieve their goals.

    Jay Yost transitioned to the McCarthy business development team in 2017, bringing along a decade of construction and preconstruction experience from his career with the company. He began with McCarthy as a project engineer and ultimately served as preconstruction director before transitioning into his current role. He now focuses on the principles of stakeholder value and organizational effectiveness to develop and lead high-performing pursuit teams while building strong client relationships to seek out new business opportunities.

    Jay is an active board member with the CREATE Mentoring Program, which focuses on inspiring high school students interested in pursuing careers in the built environment. He also is a general board member for The Center for Fathers and Families.
