    Named regional president in January 2018, Mike reports directly to McCarthy President and COO Scott Wittkop. Mike formerly served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Castle Contracting for more than 16 years. During his tenure as COO of Castle, he was responsible for all field and office operations as well as the business development and estimating functions. Under his leadership, Castle has grown to a highly successful business with over 200 employees. After the McCarthy acquisition of Castle in late 2014, Mike became Executive Vice President and a member of the McCarthy Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to his relocation to California, Mike was also associated with the ACE Mentor Program of St. Louis, AGC of Missouri, Eastern Missouri Laborers and the Flags of Valor organization.

    Paul King is responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams, and seeking out new business opportunities in the San Diego region. He brings nearly 13 years of experience in the construction industry.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also leads McCarthy’s Heart Hats philanthropic focus in San Diego.

    With nearly 25 years of construction industry experience, Robert Betz joined McCarthy in 1994, serving in various leadership roles for the firm’s Southern California Division. In his position as executive vice president, Bob is responsible for establishing strong relationships with clients and partners in the San Diego region, along with overseeing the overall operations of McCarthy’s San Diego office. 

    Bob has played an integral role in the successful completion of a variety of large-scale McCarthy construction projects in San Diego and Orange counties. He has also been instrumental in establishing McCarthy among the top green builders in the region and helped lead the division’s use of leading technology on jobsites. He holds certificates of Construction Technology, OSHA 500 Construction Safety, and OSHA 501 General Industry Safety from the University of California, San Diego.
