    Since joining McCarthy in 2001, Erin Valentine has worked closely with the firm’s clients and project teams to develop new solutions to enhance project delivery. Erin’s efforts encompass multiple initiatives within McCarthy's Central Region. She actively works within the education and commercial markets for hospitality, housing, office, entertainment and related developments, including leadership of efforts with state and local governments, particularly in the justice sector.

    In addition, Erin is actively involved with numerous industry organizations including US Green Building Council, Construction Management Association of America, Associated General Contractors of America, Commercial Real Estate Women Network, Society of College and University Planning, American Institute of Architects, Missouri Municipal League, Missouri Association of Counties and American Correctional Association.

    Paul King is responsible for maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams, and seeking out new business opportunities in the San Diego region. He brings nearly 13 years of experience in the construction industry.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also leads McCarthy’s Heart Hats philanthropic focus in San Diego.

    As a vice president in McCarthy’s Northern Pacific Division, Frances Choun develops and maintains business relationships with clients throughout the region. Her strong leadership has greatly contributed to the division’s overall growth, and after almost two decades with McCarthy, has helped propel us forward as one of the largest commercial contracting firms in California.

    Frances launched her career in architecture, where she developed an interest in the construction side of the business. Her exposure to the construction industry eventually led to her career transition. As an industry expert, she is regularly called upon by local, trade and national media to address new and projected trend, and is considered a pioneer in advancing women in the construction field. She was recently honored as a “Forever Influential Woman of Influence in Business” by the San Francisco Business Times.

    Having served in many leadership capacities for professional industry groups, Frances is the past president of the Commercial Real Estate Women’s (CREW) San Francisco Chapter, former president of the board for the San Francisco Telegraph Hill Neighborhood Center, and recent board member of the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) San Francisco Chapter. She is currently on the construction management advisory board for the City College of San Francisco.

    With 15 years of development and construction experience, Jeff Wood currently oversees McCarthy operations to ensure performance of the company and project teams in Nevada. Since joining McCarthy in 2012, he has helped establish the company as one of Las Vegas’ top gaming, hospitality and entertainment builders, collaborating with clients such as Station Casinos, Hakkasan, Brooklyn Bowl and Top Golf, among others. In addition, Jeff has helped reinforce our commitment to the Rocky Mountain Region overseeing the establishment of a full-service Colorado office.

    Jeff currently serves on various committees with the Associated General Contractors and is a member of the Nevada Contractor’s and Nevada Professional Facilities Manager Association. He lends his leadership and talent to support numerous organizations including the American Heart Association, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, St Jude’s Ranch in Boulder City, and the School Community Partnership Program with Clark County School District. His commitment to community and the construction industry has led to numerous awards including being named an Engineering News-Record Southwest Top 20 Under 40 in 2015.

With a focus on the commercial, renewable energy, higher education and healthcare markets, she works closely with current and potential clients and partners to ensure McCarthy is surpassing expectations.

    Crystal actively serves as a member of the board of directors for the City of Alpharetta Development Authority, a member of the executive leadership committee for the Georgia Chapter of Construction Owners Association of America, is a past president of the South Atlantic Chapter of Construction Management Association of America, and a prior board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, Atlanta.

    Jim Madrid has more than 31 years of operations and business development experience for the construction industry including management for industrial, transportation, commercial, advanced technology, life sciences and energy projects. In his role as vice president, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients and partners in McCarthy's Southern California Division with a focus on the commercial group for the Newport Beach office. McCarthy's commercial group delivers work in the transportation, water/wastewater, hospitality, correctional and government markets, as well as commercial building opportunities.

    Jim is an active member of the Coalition of Adequate School Housing (CASH), CMAA and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).

    Mike Gonzalez oversees McCarthy’s Integrated Design Delivery process in the Southwest, including design integration, constructability and design reviews, dynamic estimating, trend log management and virtual design and construction. During his 25-plus year career, he has worked with clients in a variety of industries including life science, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial, power, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, parking, high-technology and higher education. His experience also includes more than 20 years as a specialty subcontractor installing process mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems maximizing prefabrication and modularization of systems.

    Mike has served for more than 28 years as a United States Army Engineer officer, where he is currently a colonel in the Arizona Army National Guard commanding the Regional Training Institute. A LEED Accredited and DBIA Professional, he is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Design-Build Institute of America, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, and Alliance for Construction Excellence, and serves on the Industry Advisory board for Arizona State University E. Webb School of Construction and Western Maricopa Education Center HVAC program.
