    As the business unit leader for McCarthy’s Denver office, Joe Brunsman leads the strategic direction of the company’s Colorado operations. Joe brings over 35 years of industry experience across market sectors, including significant expertise in aviation, water/wastewater and healthcare construction., which along with solar and higher education, are key focus areas for McCarthy Colorado. He is one of McCarthy’s most experienced leaders of large, self-perform civil and concrete construction projects, working closely with owners, design teams and trade partners to deliver outstanding quality while meeting complex schedules and budgets.

    Joe began his construction career as an apprentice carpenter and has served at McCarthy as a project manager, director, estimator, preconstruction lead, business development manager and business unit leader. He has a degree in Construction Management from Arizona State University and holds LEED AP BD+C certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. He is an active member of the Water Collaborative Delivery Council and the DBIA RMR W/WW Committee, and is active in his community through coaching sports, serving as Boy Scout Committee Chairman, as well as active local involvement. This includes McCarthy’s Heart Hats community outreach program, which is dedicated to ensuring real community needs are being met through hands-on activities and financial support to a variety of nonprofit causes.

    Mark Crosby, AAE, is the Vice President of Aviation for McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. An accredited airport executive (AAE), Crosby is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in airport security, operations and planning, emergency management and public safety.  

    Crosby has more than 30 years of experience in aviation at the airport systems in Portland and Sacramento, working in the areas of operations, real estate, security, economic development, and public safety. Most recently, Crosby was the principal consultant, business development lead, project executive, and subject matter expert for Ross & Baruzzini’s aviation security, emergency management, maritime and public safety clients. At McCarthy, Crosby is responsible for enhancing McCarthy’s relationships with the aviation community as well as broadening the firm’s aviation experience. 

    In addition to his work with McCarthy, Crosby serves in leadership positions at many aviation organizations, including the American Association of Airport Executives, Airports Council International, Aviation Security Advisory Committee, and the International Association of Airport Executives. He is also a brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force as an active reservist and the Assistant Adjutant General for the Oregon National Guard (ORNG) responsible for emergency management.  Joint Task Force and Dual Status Commander-certified, he provides direction to elements of the ORNG for developing and executing plans, policies, and programs. 

    Crosby is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy with a degree in business management and earned his MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University.

    Ross Edwards leads our Nevada operations, providing oversight across a diverse portfolio of projects including aviation, civil, commercial, healthcare, higher education, parking, renewable energy, and water/wastewater. With over two decades of operational and leadership experience, he has worked in all facets of the business as both a general contractor and owner’s representative. His extensive knowledge of the construction industry, and regard for leading teams in collaborative environments, has been a key attribute to McCarthy’s growth within the Silver State. Ross’ relationships extend beyond the industry and into the community through his support of the American Heart Association and Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. He is also passionate about staying connected with his alma mater, previously serving on the Construction Advisory Board for Georgia Tech.

    As Executive Vice President and Office Leader for McCarthy’s Southern California region, Paul Erb oversees all company services across Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. Having joined McCarthy in 2004 and holding integral roles including vice president of San Jose operations and San Jose Office Leader, Paul brings more than two decades of experience in the building industry to his role.

    Paul has overseen the construction of some of Northern California's marquee projects and worked with a variety of clients including Stanford University, Apple, and the University of California, Berkeley, among others. Paul currently spearheads a leadership team dedicated to growing and supporting the communities of the greater Los Angeles area. Known for his skill as a consensus builder focused on forming strong project teams, he is active in several industry and community organizations and holds a LEED AP BD+C designation from the United States Green Building Council.

    Nate is active in the National Association of Industrial Office Properties (NAIOP), Design-Build Association of America (DBIA), Associated General Contractors (AGC), Nevada Contractors Association, and Henderson Chamber of Commerce. His professional credentials include a LEED AP BD+C and an American Institute of Constructors Associate Constructor

    Paul King has more than 15 years of business development and marketing experience for the construction industry where he has focused on healthcare, commercial, parking structure, education, and specialty projects. In his role as vice president, business development, he is responsible for overseeing the business development and marketing team in Southern California while maintaining client relationships, developing the strategy for project pursuits, building strong project pursuit teams and seeking out new business opportunities throughout the region.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and San Diego County Chapters and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also has been involved with various philanthropic programs including the Boys and Girls Club, Warrior Foundation Freedom Center, March of Dimes and the American Heart Association along with supporting the philanthropic efforts of McCarthy clients including Sharp Healthcare, Scripps Health and Rady Children’s Hospital.

    Nathan serves as the Dallas Business Unit leader for McCarthy’s Southern Region. He is responsible for the strategy and near-term opportunities for McCarthy in the North Texas area. He began with McCarthy in 2008 as a project engineer and served in a variety of leadership positions in McCarthy’s Las Vegas Office and New Mexico Office before assuming his current role in Dallas. Known for his ability to lead high performing teams, Nathan has a passion for the professional development of his partners. He has been engaged in building and overseeing more than $850M of projects in many diverse market sectors including hospitality, aviation, healthcare and education. Nathan is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional and sat on the AGC New Mexico board before moving to Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Brigham Young University.

    Ryan Sawall serves as the Business Unit Leader of the Omaha and Kansas City Offices for McCarthy in the Central Region. In this role, Ryan is responsible for overseeing all markets that McCarthy currently services, including Healthcare, Education, Advanced Technology/ Manufacturing, and Commercial. His teams execute on a wide range of project deliveries from Job Order Contracting, CMAR, and Design-Build. Ryan joined McCarthy in 2005 to work on healthcare projects and has since worked in various parts of the region in many field roles and leadership roles prior to assuming his current role in 2014. Ryan’s most recent project is the Omaha Veterans Ambulatory Care Center, ENR’s 2021 National Project of the Year.

    Along with being licensed as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, Ryan is LEED AP BD+C certified through the U.S. Green Building Council and holds a certification as a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the National Hospital Association. A strong local community supporter, he is passionate about introducing young adults to possible construction careers and assisting local, small, and diverse construction companies as they grow in the industry.

    Jay Yost transitioned to the McCarthy business development team in 2017, bringing along a decade of construction and preconstruction experience from his career with the company. He began with McCarthy as a project engineer and ultimately served as preconstruction director before transitioning into his current role. He now focuses on the principles of stakeholder value and organizational effectiveness to develop and lead high-performing pursuit teams while building strong client relationships to seek out new business opportunities.

    Jay is an active board member with the CREATE Mentoring Program, which focuses on inspiring high school students interested in pursuing careers in the built environment. He also is a general board member for The Center for Fathers and Families.
