    Justin leads all company operations within the Southwest, including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Colorado. His career with McCarthy began as a laborer on a hospital construction project. After several years in the trades and service in the United States Marine Corps, Justin became a project engineer with McCarthy in 2001. He served as project director, vice president, senior vice president and executive vice president prior his current role. He has been instrumental in developing and expanding the region’s education services, including the launch of Job Order Contracting, and McCarthy's national solar, healthcare, municipal and commercial market sectors. He serves as a board chair of the American Heart Association’s Greater Phoenix Chapter and the Support Sky Harbor Coalition, and also is a member of the Arizona Builder’s Alliance, American Society of Civil Engineers and WESTMARC. Justin earned a civil and environmental engineering degree from Vermont Technical College.

She brings more than a decade of experience in the construction industry, including nearly eight years of hands-on project management experience in the field and design management experience on design-build projects.

    In addition to her responsibilities with McCarthy, Antonya is actively involved with ACE Mentoring, Urban Land Institute, Design Build Institute of America, Alliance for Construction Excellence, New Pathways for Youth, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the National Association of Women in Construction.

    Charlie Crews brings nearly a decade of marketing and client relations experience to McCarthy’s Southwest Region. As Business Development Manager, Crews leads the establishing and building of relationships with current and future clients, partners, and other stakeholders of McCarthy’s commercial construction projects. Her focus areas include healthcare, mission critical, aviation, and municipal market sectors. She also oversees the team’s strategy on new opportunity pursuits and the development of market growth. Crews is active with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Arizona Chapter, serving in the Partnership Forum and Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is a member of Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Phoenix affiliate of Women in Healthcare. Crews holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Arizona State University and was named a 2019 Up and Comer to Know in CRE by AZRE Magazine.

    Joe Brunsman serves as the business unit leader of the Infrastructure team for McCarthy in the Southwest. In this role, Joe is responsible for overseeing water and wastewater projects, airport projects and general civil projects within the region. His team offers general contracting, construction management, program management and design-build services for infrastructure projects in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and Texas.  

    During his nearly 30 years in the construction industry, Joe has managed many of the firm’s largest construction projects. He started his career as an apprentice carpenter and joined McCarthy in 2008 as a project manager. Since then he has become one of the firm’s most experienced managers of large self-perform civil and concrete construction projects, working closely with owners, design teams and trade partners to deliver outstanding quality.

    Scott Canada oversees McCarthy’s renewable energy projects in the Southwestern U.S., with a focus on the solar marketplace. Since joining McCarthy’s Solar Team in 2009 as a preconstruction director, he has helped position McCarthy as an industry leader in solar design and construction. Scott has nearly two decades of experience in the energy industry and is certified as an Energy Manager and Power Quality Professional through the Association of Energy Engineers, along with holding his LEED AP BD+C designation.

    Early in his career, Scott gained renewable energy experience with renewable energy working for Arizona Public Service. He expanded his knowledge by managing large utility scale EPC solar projects and overseeing a detailed utility impact study on the value solar brings to utility distribution, transmission and generation systems. Today, Scott’s deep technical understanding of the solar marketplace is something clients and partners have come to count on in this continuously evolving marketplace.

    As Senior Vice President of Operations for McCarthy in the Southwest, Chris Nickle is responsible for healthcare, renewable energy, parking and other public projects in the region. Since joining McCarthy in 2000, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in complex construction projects with an emphasis on the healthcare sector and public projects. He has also been instrumental in expanding McCarthy’s solar construction team from a total of 21 MW projects in 2010 to more than 600 MW today.

    Chris is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Central Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Arizona Builders Alliance. In addition, he is a board member for East Valley Partnership. Chris was named one of the “Top 20 under 40” professionals in 2014 by Engineering News-Record Southwest.

    Dhruv Patel currently serves as vice president of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) within the company’s Renewable Energy team. In this role, he oversees design and procurement of equipment and leads supplier and subcontractor selection and negotiation nationally for McCarthy’s renewable projects. Dhruv brings his experience with renewable and conventional power plants, transmission line, and substation design and construction to assist clients considering solar and energy-related projects across the country. His familiarity includes site identification and acquisition, financial analysis, permit and design management, EPC contract negotiation, regulatory strategy, capital budget management, procurement of equipment, supplier and subcontractor selection, negotiation and compliance reporting.

    Frances Inestroza brings more than 20 years of AEC industry experience to McCarthy’s Southwest Region, with nearly a decade in the construction industry. As Business Development Manager, she is responsible for establishing, building, and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients and partners. She is a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO). A leader and avid learner, she holds a Managers to Lead Certification through XM Performance and is a graduate of the Scottsdale Leadership Organization. She graduated from The University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work.

    Bryan Kuster serves as the Business Unit Leader of the education group for McCarthy in the Southwest. In this role, Bryan is responsible for overseeing higher education, K12, and research/laboratory projects across the state of Arizona. His teams execute on a wide range of project deliveries from Job Order Contracting, CMAR, and Design-Build.

    Bryan joined McCarthy in 2005 as a project engineer working on education projects. He held numerous field and leadership roles prior to assuming his current role in 2018. Recognized regularly as an industry leader, he helped lead the $120 million Biodesign Institute C laboratory at Arizona State University, the winner of ENR Southwest’s 2018 project of the year and a finalist for ENR’s National Top Projects.

    Bryan is a mentor for young professionals in the construction industry and is actively involved in engaging and mentoring new employees at McCarthy. He sits on the Board of Directors for Scottsdale Unified School District Foundation and is involved in the Arizona Builders Alliance and the Design-Build Institute of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Arizona State University.

    With nearly two decades of experience in construction, Ryan has carved a niche specializing in Mission Critical facilities with 24/7 operational systems. His strong operations background positions him to successfully evaluate and address highly-technical projects and lead teams through every stage of design, construction, and commissioning. Ryan makes it a priority to be an “active listener” for clients, architects and engineering teams, ensuring project goals are met. He is a LEED AP BD+C Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council and is a graduate of the Arizona Builders Alliance Leadership Development Forum.     Mike Gonzalez oversees McCarthy’s Integrated Design Delivery process in the Southwest, including design integration, constructability and design reviews, dynamic estimating, trend log management and virtual design and construction. During his 25-plus year career, he has worked with clients in a variety of industries including life science, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial, power, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, parking, high-technology and higher education. His experience also includes more than 20 years as a specialty subcontractor installing process mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems maximizing prefabrication and modularization of systems.

    Mike has served for more than 28 years as a United States Army Engineer officer, where he is currently a colonel in the Arizona Army National Guard commanding the Regional Training Institute. A LEED Accredited and DBIA Professional, he is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Design-Build Institute of America, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, and Alliance for Construction Excellence, and serves on the Industry Advisory board for Arizona State University E. Webb School of Construction and Western Maricopa Education Center HVAC program.
