    Since joining McCarthy in 2001, Erin Valentine has worked closely with the firm’s clients and project teams to develop new solutions to enhance project delivery. Erin’s efforts encompass multiple initiatives within McCarthy's Central Region. She actively works within the education and commercial markets for hospitality, housing, office, entertainment and related developments, including leadership of efforts with state and local governments, particularly in the justice sector.

    In addition, Erin is actively involved with numerous industry organizations including US Green Building Council, Construction Management Association of America, Associated General Contractors of America, Commercial Real Estate Women Network, Society of College and University Planning, American Institute of Architects, Missouri Municipal League, Missouri Association of Counties and American Correctional Association.

    John McRitchie oversees McCarthy’s Commercial Services and Education Services Business Units in Southern California. This work includes office, airport/transportation, entertainment, water/wastewater, solar, industrial and correctional facilities, as well as K-12 education, community college and higher education throughout the region.

    John is focused on providing our clients and partners with skilled, collaborative teams who understand and address their needs. He brings extensive experience in technically complex projects, proven design phase and construction expertise, and commitment to an integrated approach to help deliver projects throughout the region. With nearly 25 years of experience in design integration and construction, he is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). In addition, John is actively involved in the community, supporting local charities such as CHOC, Ronald McDonald House, and Taller San Jose, a non-profit providing construction career training to disadvantaged youth.

    Stacy Robben is responsible for generating building opportunities for McCarthy and developing strong relationships with industry partners throughout a multi-state region. With 25 years of experience in marketing and business development in design and construction, she works closely with internal marketing teams to generate awareness of McCarthy's services. In addition, she provides leadership for McCarthy’s Collinsville, Ill., office.

    Stacy is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED®) accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). She is past president of the St. Louis chapter of Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and has been recognized as a Fellow in the organization. In addition, she is a member of the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois, American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), Board member of Southern Illinois Chapter for Healthcare Engineering and former Advisory Board member of the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Construction Leadership Institute.

    As Project Director, Ryan Sawall currently oversees a variety of projects for clients out of McCarthy’s Omaha office, specializing in healthcare and education. With more than a decade of McCarthy experience, he began as a project engineer, moving up to assistant project superintendent, assistant project manager, project engineer and project manager prior to assuming his current role.

    Along with being licensed as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, Ryan is LEED AP BD+C certified through the U.S. Green Building Council and active with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He also holds a certification as a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the National Hospital Association and is a former board member for the Nebraska Society of Healthcare Engineers. A strong local community supporter, he is passionate about introducing young adults to possible construction careers and assisting local, small and diverse construction companies as they grow in the industry. He was instrumental in the creation of the new Omaha Chapter of ACE Mentor and currently serves on the board.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also leads McCarthy’s Heart Hats philanthropic focus in San Diego.

    With 15 years of development and construction experience, Jeff Wood currently oversees McCarthy operations to ensure performance of the company and project teams in Nevada. Since joining McCarthy in 2012, he has helped establish the company as one of Las Vegas’ top gaming, hospitality and entertainment builders, collaborating with clients such as Station Casinos, Hakkasan, Brooklyn Bowl and Top Golf, among others. In addition, Jeff has helped reinforce our commitment to the Rocky Mountain Region overseeing the establishment of a full-service Colorado office.

    Jeff currently serves on various committees with the Associated General Contractors and is a member of the Nevada Contractor’s and Nevada Professional Facilities Manager Association. He lends his leadership and talent to support numerous organizations including the American Heart Association, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, St Jude’s Ranch in Boulder City, and the School Community Partnership Program with Clark County School District. His commitment to community and the construction industry has led to numerous awards including being named an Engineering News-Record Southwest Top 20 Under 40 in 2015.

Tim was awarded the 2016 SMPS Colorado “Business Developer of the Year” and was honored by San Diego Metropolitan Magazine in 2007 as part of its annual “40 under 40” honor roll.

    Dr. David J. Peterson oversees operations, strategic planning and new market growth for McCarthy’s Education team in the Southwest. He joined the firm in 2015, bringing more than 30 years of experience as an engineer, planner, project manager, educator administrator and construction industry leader. In his current role, David puts this depth of experience to work to assist clients and teams better understand the needs of school districts, teachers, administrators and the communities they serve in developing solutions to efficiently fulfill their campus building and educational goals.

    In addition to his role with McCarthy, David is involved with numerous boards and community groups including the Association of School Business Officials International, Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO), Scottsdale Boys & Girls Club and Arizona Business & Education Coalition. He has served with St. Vincent DePaul and Support Sky Harbor Neighborhood Coalition. While a school administrator, David was named AASBO Member of the Year and received the State of Arizona Governor’s Award for Energy Efficiency.

Ryan serves on the board of FamilyForward, a St. Louis-based charity fighting child abuse and neglect. He holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and was named to the St. Louis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 class of 2015. In 2017 he was included on Building Design + Construction’s 40 Under 40 list.

    Based in Kansas City, Barry Sutherland is primarily responsible for new business development, client services and marketing with a focus on fostering relationships with Healthcare, Education, and Science & Technology clients in the region. He began his career with McCarthy managing marketing for McCarthy's Science & Technology business development team for three years, before transitioning to lead business development efforts in Kansas City.

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Barry is a strong advocate for sustainability efforts at McCarthy and on the firm’s building projects. He is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, having served as president of the St. Louis chapter, chair of the national Build Business conference, and a variety of roles with the Kansas City chapter, including currently serving as the Sponsorship Chair. In addition, he serves on the Olathe Chamber’s Business-to-Government Committee, the Kansas City Area Healthcare Engineer’s Social Committee, and The University of Kansas Hospital’s Young Professional’s Alliance. He and his wife live with their family in Olathe, Kansas.

During his 25-plus year career, he has worked with clients in a variety of industries including life science, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial, power, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, parking, high-technology and higher education. His experience also includes more than 20 years as a specialty subcontractor installing process mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems maximizing prefabrication and modularization of systems.

    Mike has served for more than 28 years as a United States Army Engineer officer, where he is currently a colonel in the Arizona Army National Guard commanding the Regional Training Institute. A LEED Accredited and DBIA Professional, he is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Design-Build Institute of America, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, and Alliance for Construction Excellence, and serves on the Industry Advisory board for Arizona State University E. Webb School of Construction and Western Maricopa Education Center HVAC program.

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Tad has served as a board member of Rice Design Alliance, Associated Builders and Contractors Greater Houston Chapter and AGC Houston. He is also active in NAIOP, CoreNet, USGBC, AGC, CHPS, CEFPI, SMPS and ULI.
