    With nearly two decades of construction experience, Sean Miller’s career has encompassed managing operations and field construction teams on large, complex projects throughout Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wyoming. This broad, hands-on construction experience in a wide-range of markets and project delivery methods allows him to better advise and collaborate with clients and business partners through the design and construction phases of their projects. In his current role as business development director, Sean collaborates to help clients in healthcare, parking structures, justice, municipal and aviation achieve their business and community goals through construction projects. He is LEAN Green Certified through the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Healthcare Construction Certification.

    As Project Director, Ryan Sawall currently oversees a variety of projects for clients out of McCarthy’s Omaha office, specializing in healthcare and education. With more than a decade of McCarthy experience, he began as a project engineer, moving up to assistant project superintendent, assistant project manager, project engineer and project manager prior to assuming his current role.

    Along with being licensed as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, Ryan is LEED AP BD+C certified through the U.S. Green Building Council and active with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He also holds a certification as a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) through the National Hospital Association and is a former board member for the Nebraska Society of Healthcare Engineers. A strong local community supporter, he is passionate about introducing young adults to possible construction careers and assisting local, small and diverse construction companies as they grow in the industry. He was instrumental in the creation of the new Omaha Chapter of ACE Mentor and currently serves on the board.

    Amy Thompson is Director of Business Development for McCarthy’s Central Division based in Omaha, Neb. In this role, she is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing client relationships in Nebraska and western Iowa.

    Amy began her career in advertising and marketing in the finance and tech industries, moving on to a client service role in the AEC industry. She has more than a decade of experience working with both contractors and designers, bringing a strong understanding of the complete design and construction process. Most recently, she spent the past seven years at Leo A Daly in Omaha focused on healthcare business development.

    In 2016 Amy was chosen for Building Design & Construction’s 40 under 40 Award, honoring top professionals in the industry. She is active in the community, serving as CASA Sarpy Campaign Chair for Little CASA Su CASA for two years and on several local boards including the Nebraska Society of Healthcare Engineers and DBIA in Omaha. Amy also founded an AEC networking group called the Omaha Business Development Friday Afternoon Club, a formal network of AEC professionals and owners.

    In addition to his responsibilities with McCarthy, Paul is a former board member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services Orange County and served as a committee member for Design-Build Institute of America Western Region. He also leads McCarthy’s Heart Hats philanthropic focus in San Diego.

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Charlie is a licensed architect in the states of Texas and Missouri. In addition to being an active member of TEXO and the American Institute of Architects, he also serves on the board of directors of Mi Escuelita and the Dallas Regional Chamber Economic Development Taskforce.

    With 15 years of development and construction experience, Jeff Wood currently oversees McCarthy operations to ensure performance of the company and project teams in Nevada. Since joining McCarthy in 2012, he has helped establish the company as one of Las Vegas’ top gaming, hospitality and entertainment builders, collaborating with clients such as Station Casinos, Hakkasan, Brooklyn Bowl and Top Golf, among others. In addition, Jeff has helped reinforce our commitment to the Rocky Mountain Region overseeing the establishment of a full-service Colorado office.

    Jeff currently serves on various committees with the Associated General Contractors and is a member of the Nevada Contractor’s and Nevada Professional Facilities Manager Association. He lends his leadership and talent to support numerous organizations including the American Heart Association, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, St Jude’s Ranch in Boulder City, and the School Community Partnership Program with Clark County School District. His commitment to community and the construction industry has led to numerous awards including being named an Engineering News-Record Southwest Top 20 Under 40 in 2015.

    As Senior Vice President of Operations for McCarthy in the Southwest, Chris Nickle is responsible for healthcare, renewable energy, parking and other public projects in the region. Since joining McCarthy in 2000, he has accumulated a wealth of experience in complex construction projects with an emphasis on the healthcare sector and public projects. He has also been instrumental in expanding McCarthy’s solar construction team from a total of 21 MW projects in 2010 to more than 600 MW today.

    Chris is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Central Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineering and the Arizona Builders Alliance. In addition, he is a board member for East Valley Partnership. Chris was named one of the “Top 20 under 40” professionals in 2014 by Engineering News-Record Southwest.

He began his McCarthy career as a project engineer, also holding positions as a field superintendent, project manager, senior project manager and project director before assuming his current role. Doug has participated in more than $3 billion of completed construction projects across America. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois.

    As the McCarthy Kansas City office leader, Steve Meuschke is responsible for strategy and near-term opportunities for McCarthy in the Kansas City region. Steve brings nearly two decades of experience in the construction industry to his role, including serving as the project manager on the award-winning Mercy Hospital Joplin replacement facility in Joplin, Mo. He also played integral roles on a variety of other major McCarthy projects, including the Dairy Farmers of America dryer plant and renovation of the Spencer Chemistry and Biological Sciences Building at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Steve holds LEED AP BD + C and OSHA 30-Hour Construction & Health certifications.

    Justin Peterson oversees company operations for McCarthy in Colorado. With two decades of industry experience, he has spent the past 14 years helping to deliver more than $875 million in construction solutions for clients across Colorado’s Front Range and Western Slope. Justin’s deep understanding of the Colorado construction marketplace and commitment to developing and maintaining strong relationships with area trade partners have helped him deliver exceptional results for clients in the region.

    Justin began his career with McCarthy in the field as a project engineer, moving up to assistant project superintendent, superintendent, project manager and project director before assuming his current role. His range of experience includes healthcare, solar, commercial office, education and more, with clients including Children’s Hospital Colorado, Denver Health, Sisters of Charity Leavenworth, Silicon Ranch and Kaiser Permanente. He holds a Healthcare Construction Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering and McCarthy’s ICC Class A General Contractors licenses. An avid outdoorsman, Justin is also active with Larimer County Boys & Girls Club, Ft Collins Vipers Lacrosse, and NFL Play 60 Flag Football.

    Patrick is a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design accredited professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

He began his career with McCarthy managing marketing for McCarthy's Science & Technology business development team for three years, before transitioning to lead business development efforts in Kansas City.

    A LEED Accredited Professional, Barry is a strong advocate for sustainability efforts at McCarthy and on the firm’s building projects. He is an active member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services, having served as president of the St. Louis chapter, chair of the national Build Business conference, and a variety of roles with the Kansas City chapter, including currently serving as the Sponsorship Chair. In addition, he serves on the Olathe Chamber’s Business-to-Government Committee, the Kansas City Area Healthcare Engineer’s Social Committee, and The University of Kansas Hospital’s Young Professional’s Alliance. He and his wife live with their family in Olathe, Kansas.

    Mike Gonzalez oversees McCarthy’s Integrated Design Delivery process in the Southwest, including design integration, constructability and design reviews, dynamic estimating, trend log management and virtual design and construction. During his 25-plus year career, he has worked with clients in a variety of industries including life science, infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial, power, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, parking, high-technology and higher education. His experience also includes more than 20 years as a specialty subcontractor installing process mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems maximizing prefabrication and modularization of systems.

    Mike has served for more than 28 years as a United States Army Engineer officer, where he is currently a colonel in the Arizona Army National Guard commanding the Regional Training Institute. A LEED Accredited and DBIA Professional, he is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Design-Build Institute of America, Mechanical Contractors Association of America, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association, and Alliance for Construction Excellence, and serves on the Industry Advisory board for Arizona State University E. Webb School of Construction and Western Maricopa Education Center HVAC program.

    With more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry, Lee O’Connell has developed a reputation as someone who forges collaboration with owners, design teams and subcontractors.     Lee joined McCarthy in 2003 and has developed a diversified background of commercial projects including expertise in healthcare. He has held multiple roles throughout his career with McCarthy which give him the ability to understand the project from concept to closeout. In addition to his current McCarthy responsibilities, Lee served as past executive board member of the Associated General Contractors, New Mexico and is current a member of Arizona Chapter of Lean Construction Institute and Central Arizona Society for Healthcare Engineering. He also holds the Healthcare Construction Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.

    Shaun brings practical field experience to his current role, helping him to better listen and understand the unique needs of healthcare clients. In addition, his experience with a variety of project delivery methods including design-build and integrated project delivery enables him to guide clients considering alternatives to traditional design-bid-build delivery in California.

    He is active in helping lead McCarthy's incorporation of Lean practices into the firm's processes. He serves on the board for the Lean Construction Institute, Los Angeles Community of Practice.
